I was actually expecting you to say “I have spoken..” :D

Ha. Just trying to help the newbies about to start a new journey. And to be honest, we all get so excited by a new operating system, these little very important things can get forgotten about.

Was just a little refresher, definitely not trying to be anymore buddy 👍🏼

but should of mic dropped it right? 😆😂

absolutely...

Though you KNOW that right after iOS 17 b1 drops, people who shouldn't will install it and then quickly discover that their banking apps won't work and start freaking out... Then they'll start flooding the thread with "when will apple fix iOS 17 so my banking app will work?" posts...

Happens every year...

It is so predictable right 😆😂
Blows my mind every time.

Been on since Friday and so far so good. Battery life is excellent, however still not quite reaching the incredible longevity I had with 16.5 RC1. (Much better than RC2 / public release though). Everything overall seems nice and fast, and I haven’t found any glaring issues. Pretty good beta all around I’d say!

(14PM)

Ever since 16.5, I've had a strange bug where all the numbers for my contacts defaulted from "mobile", "iPhone", "work" etc to "PHONE". Absolutely no way I'm gonna go in and change each and every one of my contacts 😆

I also lost my favourites. These I did fix on 16.5, but then just updated to 16.6 and they've gone again!

So jumped on the beta today and so far so good. One issue though is on initial boot the cellular would not come on (activate). No message, no bars just the dots like no signal available. Turning on airplane mode didn't help and had to reboot. Subsequent reboots have been fine.

Interesting enough I updated my wifes phone Friday night when she was off to bed to 16.5 and the same thing happened. She finally told me like Sunday AM that whatever I did to her phone made it stop phone calls and messages from coming through. I looked and sure enough no cellular just the dots and no signal bars. Same resolution with a reboot required. Not sure I have ever had that happen in the past with any version of iOS.

I’ve had some cellular weirdness across betas/“finals” for a while now; at least as far back as 16.4 IIRC. Not sure what is up with that but it’s pretty annoying and even worse it is apparently still there (for some, yeah, I know) even in public releases. Apple’s software is getting functionally ******** where it matters and no amount of rushing to their defense with customer testimonials is going to change or fix that.

Like, it’s this late in 16’s lifecycle and SOME of us are still experiencing severe cellular disconnects/radio crashes. We’ll see what iOS 17 brings, I guess….

I would keep hitting the like button for this post but it only lets me do it once. +1000 though!!!!

16.6 Public Beta 1 has been pretty good for me, but I think I'm going to end up reverting back to 16.5 because I rely quite a bit on the announce notifications when I have my Airpods in, and with the beta whenever siri is trying to read a notification, it turns my music to full blast, and the notification doesn't even get read.

13 ProMax (beta)
AW Ultra (not beta)
Notifications

First for the 13PM - badges appear and are accurate but only update (mostly) if I open the app. If I read mail on the iPad, the iPhone doesn't update and vice versa.

Second for the AWU - with this beta Notifications (which are mirrored) seldom go off. I can see the item if I look and scroll around on the watch, but no haptics or alerts.

Reported via Feedback.

btw - the beta update is available in the Watch > Settings > General even though I have never done the beta or indicated I wanted it for the AWU.
