iOS 16 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I can’t add any card to the Apple Watch wallet (iOS 16 / watchOS 9). I get some error message saying “could not setup Apple Pay”.

Works fine on the phone or the iPad, with 3 different cards, so not a card issuer issue for sure.

Probably gonna wait for the next round of beta to try again, just curious to see if anyone experienced the same.
 
I think that the optimized load does not work in this first beta, right? at least to me since I updated, it has not been activated again

Add Natwest to that list, works fine.

I wonder if HSBC will be the baddy again and not update till ios16 release day. Their app never works with betas and they don’t do any changes until late on.

Ending my 12-hour work days (which include plenty of screen-on time and no charging except a top-up before I leave) with ~30% battery left on my 13 mini. Not great, not abysmal, but plenty of room for improvement.

Looking forward to beta 2 next week or the week after. 🎉

It has erased my entire battery usage history tonight. It also tells me that I have used the mobile for 30 minutes while I was sleeping 🤣

30% left on a mini after 12 hours of heavy use doesn’t sound like bad battery performance to me.

Is anyone else seeing the storage fluctuation issue? One day my storage space will be 30 gb and then the next it’s down to 2 gb. Also, is there anyway to delete all the different lock screens you’ve made? Thanks!

Same happened to me with one specific debit card. After multiple attempts, it finally worked.

yes, I meant the optimized charging. Indeed, there is the option in the settings, but in ios 15.5 it was activated, and when I updated to this beta it stopped doing it. I suppose that the patterns that I had saved when updating will have been restarted.
 
and tonight a strange thing happened to me while the phone was charging. while I was sleeping it has "restored" certain parts of the system, like the battery usage history, I only have since I unplugged it this morning, some settings that I had on the screen had also returned to the default options, in addition to that I had also restored trusted computers. As a result of missing being able to update by ipsw, by OTA, in the end I always end up having some long-term problems.

No issues for me, though it is meant to fluctuate.

To delete after long pressing on the Lock Screen long press the one(s) you want to delete

Lots of weird things happen when you have devices with different operating system versions installed, particularly during the early days of a beta of a major release. I am in a similar situation but reversed: my iPhone remains on 15.6 and my iPad is on the iOS 16 beta. I’ve had a lot of similar issues especially with Messages.

Battery life is improving and no longer experiencing heating issues on both of my devices. This is now feeling like a final release more than it ever has.

iPad Pro 2021
iPhone 13 Pro

Edit: Wi-Fi issue is also gone.

Last weekend I began to have issues with wifi and/or cellular. I had to turn Airplane mode off and back on to be able to use data. Tried "Reset Network Settings", but the issue persisted. Tried "Update" with IPSW file, issue still persisted. So last night I reverted to 15.6 b3, and no more issue (so far) today.
Funny thing is all was okay for the first 5 days or so....... Anyway, will most likely try b2 when released, until then I'll be with the other three people in the 15.6 beta 3 thread ;)
