iOS 16 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

today the weather app doesn't run in the background, and it doesn't even appear in the battery graphs anymore. today it is behaving like in iOS 15, let's see tomorrow haha

Okay, so I came back to iOS 16 b1..... got bored with 15.6 b3 soooo quickly. Just because it was all working so well, I suppose. And the 15.6 b3 forum thread is almost deserted.....so all in al pretty boring.
Anyway, the process of going back to 15 meant a restore, so this time I used the IPSW directly to go to 16. So far so good - the OS seems to be much more stable than my first try to 16 (OTA then IPSW update). Fingers crossed Pearsey.....

I have had this a couple of times too.
 
Anyone else had to confirm their icloud account in settings like multiple times last night (and was totally signed out when opening settings this morning)? I also had to confirm my iphone passcode AND my macbook passcode inside ios settings o_O

Well, the joy of the proper functioning of the weather app lasted a little. As soon as I connected the phone to the charger, it started running in the background, and has been like that all night. the phone has not stopped charging, but it was quite hot. definitively uninstalled until beta 2. I will always be left wondering if this problem could be due to a bad OTA installation
 
How can i update using IPSW. Tested on Windows using iTunes. Told me to update iTunes but i am on latest iTunes

Oddly enough, looking at my battery usage, Weather was going in the background between 3-5am this morning AGAIN…but unlike the previous two nights, my battery did NOT drain during that time. Got up to 100% and stayed there all night.

My biggest issue with this beta so far has been battery life during the day (to be expected for beta 1 of course), but other than that overnight issue the two nights before last, battery has actually become less of an issue over the past few days. It’s gotten significantly better.

I did the same just last night except I just did a full wipe of my settings and installed everything Fresh. World of a difference compared to the OTA update on top of my existing settings.

I know its somewhat common knowledge that installing everything fresh is the way to go with Betas, but of course most of us try to upgrade the easy way.

Almost bugless with a fresh install.

Yes, I had to on my IP13 PM. Then this morning my wife had the prompt on her iPad Air 4. She is on 15.5 though, so it may not be a beta thing, unless it's because she is a part of our "Family" setup....
 
I’m digging the new dynamic Earth view wallpaper on the Lock Screen. The only thing is that it keeps posting from my location’s overhead view to Cupertino’s and back. I just can’t figure out when it does it.

Option to follow artists is a gimmick because there is no window or a tab to see your followed artists.

As Apple states it:

You can follow artists to bring you better artist suggestions, thats it.
