Don’t know if anyone has that bug but if I wake up in the middle of the night (phone is charging on a wireless charger) my screen is not off and I have to manually press the power button to shut it down…

This is new. Tap the panels in Weather and you get a detailed summary.

For those that downgraded back to iOS 15, did you “update” through Finder with IPSW? I tried this and got stuck in a boot loop and had to reinstall iOS 16. Do I need to wipe and restore from backup?

Last weekend I began to have issues with wifi and/or cellular. I had to turn Airplane mode off and back on to be able to use data. Tried "Reset Network Settings", but the issue persisted. Tried "Update" with IPSW file, issue still persisted. So last night I reverted to 15.6 b3, and no more issue (so far) today.
Funny thing is all was okay for the first 5 days or so....... Anyway, will most likely try b2 when released, until then I'll be with the other three people in the 15.6 beta 3 thread ;)
Just the opposite for me. I was having that problem on 15.6. I think the update along with the updated modem cured my problem for the most part. I still drop data about once a day but much better than before.

I’ve been using this a lot. Even better on the iPad. Probably my favourite new feature
Does the iPhone version of Weather still have the "Report an Issue" button that showed up in 15.4 or 15.5? The iPad version does not and I don't have 16 on my iPhone to check.

You should never downgrade from one major iOS version to another using the IPSW update. You'll almost always have unpredictable issues.
Only ever wipe the device and restore using an iCloud or iTunes backup.

If your using the IPSW file + finder method manually selecting the IPSW file, staying on the same iOS version but different increments or betas, you can go up and down for updating/downgrade/reinstall, as finder will tell you, if, you can’t otherwise - I’ve been doing this since iOS 14 and never had an issue. I’ve always backed up to mac before hand.

You can’t go from 16 back to 15 using that method though. For that you should use your encrypted back up or a back up you made before installing iOS 16 and do a restore.

That way you can safely go back to the iOS 15.x you came from.

Well that is a first. My iPhone stopped charging wireless at 94% „due to heat“ over night and when I woke up, the battery was at around 50%.

The only thing running was apparently the Weather App (set to location services upon usage only)
Same issue here. Didn't start happening until the night before last and then happened again last night

Beta been smooth so far. The only "broken" thing for me really is the Mail app. Feels like back in iOS 14! I have to force close it or click back from all mail and back in to see the list of mails, marking a mail as read will keep it as unread until i leave the inbox and get back in.
Anyone else having issues with Mail? Have not read anything (or might have missed reports)

I actually switched to Spark back when iOS 13 had all of it's changes, but now find myself going back to the Mail app because of bugs with the beta lol

I've got 6 various accounts setup and everything seems fine for me so far (I mainly just don't like how it'll jump into the next email when you move or delete an email. I most likely don't want to just have another email marked as read right away, but whatever. Gripe with the Mail app, not iOS 16.)

Not sure if I can explain this one properly. However, I have been away for a few days , and my wife and daughter are also away in Greece. They took my iPad to watch some films on the plane etc... Anyway on Tuesday I lost all connections in my Home app, all set as 'no response". I got home today and looked at all the Home Hubs and have reset everything, reset router, updated everything to latest release of the beta, (I had one Apple TV that was not updated). Still absolutely no go. I checked the Home Hubs and Bridges, and noticed the iPad in Greece was stating connected, so I asked my daughter to disconnect it from the internet ...All devices suddenly started connecting and the HomeHub connection has now picked up one of the HomePods as the connected hub. The only thing that was done to the iPad was the addition of a VPN/Proxy installation so they can pick up live streaming from the UK. Anyone any ideas why this happened ? I have never had an issue before. Cheers !

Perhaps it has something to do with Apple allegedly planning to remove the ability to use iPads as Home Hubs in iPadOS 16. It might be worth it to ask your daughter to disable the option on the iPad so that you aren’t caught with your pants down if/when such a change is implemented.

I’ve come across some anecdotal reports of Home configurations actually working more reliably after turning off the iPad’s Home Hub option, and since you have other devices to fill the gap it seems like a fairly reasonable thing to try.

One of my (thus far) most-favorite iOS 16 changes is how remarkably smooth onscreen motion, such as basic UI scrolling, looks and feels on my 13 mini. The slight choppiness (PWM?) of 15.x versions did aggravate my eyes a bit when I would focus on it, but with iOS 16 it almost feels like a step just below ProMotion, as if more frames are being drawn and/or displayed. It’s rather hard to explain and quite subtle but yet another quality-of-life improvement that makes using this little treasure that much more appealing and comfortable.

For a moment there I was feeling tempted by the mini-exterminating 14s, particularly whichever models come with ProMotion, but if this change keeps up through the public release of iOS 16 I will likely hold on to the mini.

I suspect that the VPN (as intended) tricked the iPad into thinking it was still at home but since it was out of Bluetooth range, you got the “not responding” message. I get that all the time from my front door lock which is just outside Bluetooth range of my HomePod (annoyingly).
