What's the best wait to install the public beta?
I signed up in the apple program, but it's better to install by OTA, or there's a better way?

I realize this is a beta however why does it seem like iOS/iPadOS functionality is getting more and more complicated to set and use?

No one is doing it wrong but there are only so many ways to do things. Can’t have the same gesture doing multiple things for example. Everyone wants more features. That comes at a price

I am having an issue with Messages that include photos. All was working great until recently.
Photos in iMessage are showing up as links and when I click on the link I get:

Is it me or you cannot mention a contact in Messages (yet)? Previously, you would write someone’s name, the name would turn grey, you tap on it, and the contact name would appear and then turn bold. It does not appear to be working with iOS 16 beta.

Exactly, I cannot figure out how. Type in the first name, nope. Type in the nickname, nope. Type @ before, nope.

Nothing is even suggested!

I don't remember anymore because the last beta i used was ios 14.

Public Beta only has the OTA option, no? I didn’t think Apple ever offered an IPSW for the Public Betas.

Public Betas are the same build numbers as the correspondng Developer Beta, however to my understanding the IPSW for the Beta is only officially supported with a developer account.

Anyone else managed to get Apple Watch Mirroring to work? I have the beta on both, I go into it in Accessibility, and toggle it, it comes up, saying connecting, but then after 30 seconds, it says the Watch disconnected, even though it never connected.

It’s because they keep adding stuff on top of existing things that have had a whole different work flow in the past instead of reworking a feature from scratch

Without doing a ground-up rewrite, iOS is only going to get more convoluted with more and more “convenience” features unknown to the general population.
