Beta 3 seems to have added or changed the status bar for horizontal mode for iPhone.

nPlayer in horizontal mode had the time in the centre, but now it’s exactly like the status bar in portrait mode. The time is now on the left and it is overall larger.

Status bar in horizontal mode is finally like in portrait mode.

But I’m pretty sure most apps hide the status bar in horizontal mode anyway. 🤷🏻‍♂️

After 3 betas I still have gestures issues on my 2018 11' iPad pro. At this point I think I'll just revert back to iPadOS 15 even if its just a secondary device. Swipe gestures not registering is very frustrating.

So you tell me apple has secretly enabled “optimised photo storage“ on devices without user knowledge?

if I didn’t check my storage today I’d be surprised to see my mobile data bill skyrocket because of this dumb*** move.

➡️ NOTE TO ALL ⬅️

Guys and girls, as advised by Craig F himself, if a couple of hard restarts doesn't fix a minor issue/bug your having, then if possible, on a Mac reinstall the iOS and 90% of the time most little issues sort themselves out. WiFi connectivity, over heating, blah blah, stop being a pain for you.

DON'T just sit and wait for beta 4 to arrive thinking your issue is wide spread enough or a common bug thats on Apples radar. Because you will probably be disappointed come B4 when it's not fixed with another poor OTA update on top of another (potentially).

Use the IPSW file for your phone to reinstall and get a clean install, it really can make a difference and what Apple (Craig) advises 👍🏼

(Method. No data is lost. Always encrypt back up regardless to Mac. Use Finder + option button + check for update button = manually selecting the beta you're ons IPSW file for a reinstall. Takes 10mins.)

This really can make a difference and stop any suffering or annoyance until the next beta. If your bug is still present, good chance then it is a bug that will be fixed in the beta cycle, but it was worth 10 minuets if it did go.

Astronomy wallpapers look more detailed with the Milky Way now appearing in the correct position in the sky relative Earth or Moon. The animation between earth, moon, and solar system is new (I think)

Shortcuts is now a mess and automations fail every time…
Automations have always been rubbish as far as I'm concerned. Popping up "automatically" to tell me to manually start something.

And shortcuts (I have one which gives a menu of options) now has a notification telling me it's running the shortcut before the menu appears, and then tells me again that a shortcut is running after the thing I select is done. Stupid.

However, the only automation I still have enabled (turn on low-power mode when I run a certain app, and another one to turn it off when I exit that app) are still working. So that's something.

trying to restore iOS 16 beta 3 from my Mac but it asking me to download some file which is failing because it is saying the file is not available on the software update server right now?

I have not had any issues with the previous 2 betas before? I am also a paid developer

Now that we are up to Beta 3, is iOS 16 stable enough to install on my main phone?

Of course, I know the dangers/warnings/risks. Just wondering if it's generally operational with no excessive battery drain.

Thanks

Is anyone seeing this instead of Dev Beta 3?

The update also fails every time without the download even beginning.

I’m on an 11PM

This is the error that keeps showing after pressing on “download & install”

Re Clownfishgate

As found by 9to5Mac in the internal files of iOS 16 beta 3, Apple has remastered the iconic clownfish wallpaper from the very first iPhone. However, there’s a catch. The wallpaper is not yet available as an option for users – at least not for everyone.

you can get it changing region to Europe (DE), creating a Wallpaper Pair and switch back to US.
I used DE- and US-Apple ID

Well yeah I’ll get an automation fail once in a blue moon (mainly wake to no signal.) as for the “pop up’s” if it’s what I’m thinking they are the same ones, you can turn those off within the automation (attached pic).

I have a shortcut to run every hour and it’s a constant fail plus now it has Perspective zoom. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️. Guess it’s a hit or miss on what it is/doing!

My automation does run without prompting, but it's a shortcut that since iOS16 now likes to tell me that it's running, before giving me my menu prompt, and then telling me again that it's run after my function ends. I don't need to interact with the notification, it's just bad design on Apple's part (imo).

Not to be overly snarky, but is it that hard to read the 188 posts ahead of yours? You’ll get a far better sense of the overall situation that way than from the few responses you’ll get to your question. And it will likely only take 10 minutes or so.

on the other hand, the battery widgets already appear one for each connected device. The one for the iphone came out on one side and the one for the watch on the other, I didn't have to configure them as in the previous two betas.

Anyone else seeing high system data memory usage?? 145gb of system data I’ve rebooted and checked everything I could think of. iPhone 13 Pro 256gb.

in the betas of ios 16 it is occupying me much more than in ios 15, almost always hovering between 15 and 20Gb, but yours is outrageous... I'm afraid you'll have to restore to free up memory there.

Not terribly unusual to have very high system data usage during a beta, though that seems somewhat excessive. One way to resolve this is to sync your phone to your Mac. That usually clears that up.
