Jesus f***ing christ I hate Dark Sky so much! Not once it has showed that its raining, not a single time. Right now there is pretty heavy rain and Weather app shows cloudy with 0% chance of rain.

The Weather Channel was billion times better, now this **** called Dark Sky is forcefully shoved down to our throats, wether you like it or not.

This is pissing me off!

Reported this to Apple.
Same here... now I find myself checking both just to make sure... definitely annoying.

Dark Sky has been great for me, I subscribed years ago. Highly accurate down to 5min warning for rain in Winter. I live in the SF Bay Area, other locations might have different accuracy.
Same for me...crazy accurate in Michigan, and now temporarily moved to Virginia with the same results. My father-in-law actually mentioned it to me (I got the in-laws iPhones in December) as he couldn't believe how accurate it is and makes jokes when it is off by one minute from rain starting or stopping.

I only noticed weather data being off when I viewed info for the manually chosen area vs the one generated for my location, even though they were for the same place.

I guess I got lucky, but it shows rain (before and during) for me. Hope they can get it all worked out for you.

Every time I delete a message from the main Paige page I get this alert: (the spell checker strikes again!)

This should only come up when deleting messages from numbers not in your contacts. If it's coming up even when deleting messages/conversations from stored numbers, it's definitely a bug!

13P.
Fresh install prior to iOS 16 beta.

Issues:
Tap to wake.
Not receiving any notification sounds for iMessage or phone calls.
Phone is warmer then usual when in use.
Battery life is slightly worse.
Memory Management not as good, occasional memory dumps.
Occasional Wi-Fi drop.
HomeKit enabled router - “router not ready” message within HomeKit. I’m not sure if it’s Apple or the router.

EDIT: Incorrect weather data in the weather app.

It’s a good little list but nothing too terrible.

I have the same message showing for my older eero router. I can remove it, then add it again to get the message to temporarily go away, but it always comes back. All the devices are running the most recent beta.

Same observation and behavior here. I have the Alien router.

There seem to be more bugs in this beta (at least as reported here). That is not unusual.

Many here forget that the beta process is not necessarily linear, as in the first beta is the buggiest and it only gets progressively better from there. The Apple engineers may be jiggering around with things and optimizing and de-optimizing other things as they finalize for final release. Stuff breaks as a result. Some intentionally and some not so. Just keep reporting issues.

I’m seeing more nuisance bugs with this beta.
Except for Safari. ;)

TWC was trash, I prefer Dark Sky more lol

I'd be happy if they switched to weatherunderground. But that is owned by IBM (!) now, so fat chance I reckon.

WeatherUnderground and Weather Channel are effectively the same. Both are owned by IBM. So, yeah, they’re not going to “switch” to the same provider.

For those of you unhappy with not so accurate local conditions, use the in-app feedback button to report them to Apple

Can you specify what issues you're having with Tap to Wake? When I tap to wake the screen sometimes flashes a bit before fully coming on.

They are both owned by IBM, yeah, but they are not the same. I have found weather underground to be more accurate and their presentation with the graphs much better. But sure, they are not going to switch - just wishful thinking.

Yeah WeatherUnderground (which I started using in 1996 or 97) was bought by the Weather Channel to be their “pro” service when the Weather Channel itself started drifting away from serious weather programming and more into lifestyle (travel, features, etc) television. WU was the DarkSky of the 90s/2000s. It has become less serious over time, too, since its acquisition by IBM/The Weather Company. But it still has the great network of personal weather stations to rely upon for local conditions.

I’m not sure where DarkSky/Weatherkit derives it’s local info. But as a serious weather enthusiast (even more than tech believe it or not) it’s good to see competition in this space. And only an Apple / Google / Microsoft has the resources available to them to pull this off at a global level at a non-governmental scale. IBM is no longer the behemoth it once was and that it’s a big reason why WC/WU are no longer the dominant forces they once were.

I still hate those shadows on the app names when u have a brighter wallpaper. It looks dirty. Can’t believe apple added this and thought „wow, this looks amazing!“

it looks especially nasty when it changes on the same wallpaper, depending on the wallpaper colors

Having Messages freeze, show blank screen, and refuse to load again, restart phone and it works fine. Not doing anything identifiable to cause it. 12 Pro. Reported.

So been using 16 on beta 4 and noticed two things:
  1. When playing music or podcasts, it doesnt take up the entire screen any longer on the lock screen.
  2. When not on my home wifi network, all devices on the HomeApp show as "not responding"
Has anyone noticed this on theirs or come up with a fix/"work around"?

I agree, it's pretty jarring. I hope they make some adjustments to it before release.
