Bugs for me:
  • Takes 2-3 taps for the screen to wake up and sometimes it'll just go right back to sleep and i have to tap again to wake it up.
  • Screen randomly turns on while its sitting on the desk in front of me. Like i got a notification but I didn't.
  • Tesla App isn't syncing my calendar to the car. Previous beta had more issues but this seems to be the last one.
  • Notifications aren't centered on the screen sometimes
  • Battery life is atrocious. Worse than last beta which was already bad.

So been using 16 on beta 4 and noticed two things:
  1. When playing music or podcasts, it doesnt take up the entire screen any longer on the lock screen.
  2. When not on my home wifi network, all devices on the HomeApp show as "not responding"
Has anyone noticed this on theirs or come up with a fix/"work around"?

Regarding number 1, tap the album artwork and it’ll go full screen.

I agree, it's pretty jarring. I hope they make some adjustments to it before release.
Given a fairly white background then placing white text on it... makes difficult to read.

What could they possibly do different? I'm genuinely curious...

/start soapbox

There are times, and they have been growing, it seems as if the iPhone is being pulled in several different directions instead of toward a well defined goal.

Widgets are pretty much stagnant after introduction
The lockscreen is widgets plus a status bar replacement?
Home screen icons are stagnant but what’s up with fonts?
Settings has become more and more convoluted
The App Library looks to be out to pasture
iCloud functionality is same ol’ same ol’
Siri hasn’t been evolving and doesn’t appear to be any time soon
Default apps keep getting small - other have had for years - improvements but those have been rough
Started allowing to replace default apps but that has ground to a halt
etc…..

Apple keeps rolling out new features, kind of, but other than battery, focus, and shortcuts, I’m not seeing much other than glitz. Many of these new items are fallow after small improvements. It doesn’t work better with my iPad nor MacBook. Doesn’t work better with other iDevices. Forget functionality with any other computing device.

It’s like Apple has lost its’ focus and so far 16 isn’t any real improvement.

I’m not sure, but this ain’t it. Perhaps they can start with making the shadow size more consistent so it doesn’t feel like someone used a highlighter on paper.

I've seen these two, especially the first one is very annoying. However I do not have issues with the Battery, it's been better for me than Beta 3 on my iPhone 13 Pro Max

I updated to beta 4 and since then I have had problems with tiktoks in green and other similar problems on youtube, it does not happen all the time only with some tiktoks or youtube videos, I have not found a relationship between them either, also if I close and go back to opening tiktok is fixed

I’m pretty light wallpapers used to make the text black or generate a dark color that matched the wallpaper.

Well it wasn’t a problem on iOS 15 etc

Apologies if this has been covered already, but is anyone else having trouble transferring audio from HomePod -> iPhone?

I’m back on Music for the first time in a year, and it seems like this isn’t working at the moment. I do get the haptic feedback on my phone when it’s in proximity to the HomePod, and I get the pop-up telling me what’s playing on the HomePod, but I don’t see an option to transfer the audio to the iPhone.

Wondering if it’s a beta issue.

EDIT: turns out resetting my router fixed things. *shrug*

I just noticed that my focus settings do not show the correct wallpapers.

I have one wallpaper combination for work, another one for sleep and a 3rd combination (basically the „default“ one) for when I am not using a focus at all but checking the focus settings of „work“ for example shows me the wallpapers of the „default“ one and not the wallpapers that I am actually using for „work“

So Siri no longer gives you the dew point. If you ask what the current dew point is it sends you to the web. But it will give you the heat index. Very odd.

Hi, can someone share whether iOS 16 fixes the bad standby battery performance of the iPhone 13 series? Thanks, looking for comparisons with 15.6

beta 4 most buggiest , face id sometimes doesn’t work, turn on the display lags and off also, volume is lagging randomly. hopefully next update is a fix im on a iphone 13 pro max

I'd be happy if they switched to weatherunderground. But that is owned by IBM (!) now, so fat chance I reckon.
IBM destroyed it. I still use it, but miss the old WU Storm app which was the best weather app I ever used.

We had a farm and weather was of critical importance and the app rocked, then IBM replaced it with the ugly useless Storm Radar version that’s in the App Store today. The striped away everything useful with garbage useless eye candy.

If a weather app doesn’t have radar with high/low pressure systems, warm/cold/stationary fronts, and proper alertin, it doesn’t work for me. And I will pay a subscription.

Does anyone else scrolling seem choppy when in Safari? I’m using a 13PM and Beta 4.

Everything is very smooth on my 13, no choppiness or other niggles. I should add tho that ever since before iOS 16 I've had to deal with random data drops. When the first iOS 16 beta didn't fix that I decided to do a full factory reset which also did not help. So as a last resort and getting kind of pissed I performed 3 full factory resets in a row before setting it up again as new. It was either going to fix it or I was going back to my pixel. It fixed it and has been running smooth as glass since. :)
3rd time was the charm for my 13:) and I'm quite pleased with it now.

The wallpaper UI still makes no freaking sense to me.

If I tap on „customize“ on the left, I expect it to change the lockscreen, if I tap on „customize“ on the right, I expect it to change my Home Screen wallpaper.

However, when I tap on the one on the right and I pick customize existing one, it shows me three circles at the bottom with customizations of my LOCKSCREEN wallpaper and only the last one is about my actual HOME SCREEN wallpaper.

It’s even worse when I tap „add new wallpaper“ on the right, then it suddenly wants to add a new lockscreen and Home Screen wallpaper even though I tapped „customize“ on the right (home screen)???

The „color“ and „gradient“ option doesn’t make much sense to me either. It just turns my HOME SCREEN wallpaper into a blurry vomit green version of the LOCK SCREEN wallpaper

Also, you still cannot pick a photo from the Apple Wallpaper for your Home Screen. Somehow that option only exists when u customize the lockscreen

And what is the point of the additional „add new wallpaper“ option if the „add new wallpaper“ option within both customize options (left or right) seems to do the same thing.

Like I said. I would expect the customize on the left to only effect my lockscreen and the customize on the right, to only effect my Home Screen while the „add new wallpaper“ option shouldn’t exist or be renamed to make it clear that it changes both

I’m with you on the wallpaper issues. I hate how they have the lock and home connected. And I have a lot of custom Home Screen wallpapers I created that are now very difficult to set. Took me 2 hours to set one using the finger pinch. Before in iOS 15, all I did was tap set.

13P.
Fresh install prior to iOS 16 beta.

Issues:
Tap to wake.
Not receiving any notification sounds for iMessage or phone calls.
Phone is warmer then usual when in use.
Battery life is slightly worse.
Memory Management not as good, occasional memory dumps.
Occasional Wi-Fi drop.
HomeKit enabled router - “router not ready” message within HomeKit. I’m not sure if it’s Apple or the router.

EDIT: Incorrect weather data in the weather app.

It’s a good little list but nothing too terrible.

Can you specify what issues you're having with Tap to Wake? When I tap to wake the screen sometimes flashes a bit before fully coming on.
I'm noticing a tap to wake issue - not all the time, just every now and again.

Takes a few taps for the screen to respond, then it'll flicker a few times and come on
