It uses more battery than just looking at the screen, so you never know what the percentage would have been without the swiping.Didn’t realize a simple swipe was so exhausting
Well, battery percentage never went away. It could still be seen by pulling down from the top right corner and the percentage will show. True, it's not as elegant or convenient as what Apple is currently testing with in the beta.Oh let's see...how many years did that take them when they could have done this on day one?
Pathetic.
There’s really no reason why it shouldn’t be available on the mini.
Maybe it’s a sign Apple is reallyThere’s really no reason why it shouldn’t be available on the mini.
It was never broken tho. Apple took it away from us.Thank goodness it’s such a small neat thing that has been fixed
Perhaps they have removed the graphic charge indicator in order to fit the numbers in? that would suck as I found the quick check of the graphic more useful than the approximate detail of the numbers.Interested to know what does it look like when the battery background is shorter than the numbers.
In other words, Say it is 50% - are the numbers two different colors since the background on the 5 will be white and the 0 will be clear?
Settings > Battery, and I think it's where it used to bePerhaps the fastest-growing thread in MacRumors history. Seven pages in an hour. Says a lot about us.
Also, can the percentage number be turned off? I know it's right there in the original article, but I don't really have time to read it.
I’m also excited about the haptic feedback. Not sure why Apple took it away. The keyboard itself feels premium and exclusive. Glad, it’s finally coming backthere’s 2 features that will make me update to ios 16, haptic feedback on keyboard while silent mode, and the battery percentage.
Ooh thanks. I need to try testing haptic again. It wasn't working for me in DB4there’s 2 features that will make me update to ios 16, haptic feedback on keyboard while silent mode, and the battery percentage.
The change in color is very bold and obvious. Even more than the lightning bolt. Try it, you'll like it.Perhaps they have removed the graphic charge indicator in order to fit the numbers in? that would suck as I found the quick check of the graphic more useful than the approximate detail of the numbers.

I guess not all Apple users are the sameApple users: We want the battery percentage!
Apple: Ok here.
Apple users: Its distracting!
🤦♂️
I used both the number and icon to determine how much battery I had. At a glance I could tell if it was green enough not to worry about depending on what I was doing and looked at the number if I needed more info.I thought the point of the number is so you don't need to have a bar-graph meter shrinking over time.
It's the number that tells you how much battery percentage you have, right?
People were upset when the number went away with the iPhone X
Well it's finally coming back! Hooray!
