latest beta is solid on my 12 pro max. not had any issues. battery life was improved with previous beta and doesn't seem any different now. i remember some animations on previous beta being a bit stuttering and apps crashing. no stuttering or crashes so far!

i turned off the battery indicator. i like having the % in the icon but it's bugging me that the icon doesn't "drain" to reflect charge. hopefully Apple improves upon it with the next beta! I hope they go with either A or C:

As a 60-year-old technophile, I worry about ideas like this. The tiny digits aren't easy to read for these eyes, and adding clutter and decreasing the contrast in that icon will make it nearly impossible. What you've posted here shows up (at least on my MBA) nearly twice the size of how they appear IRL on an iPhone.

Anyone know if this is a bug or works a designed? Looking at Weather, chance of rain is 60% today. But looking at the hours at top, there is no indication of rain. However, tapping into the hours and changing to precip, it does indicate the hours. What gives? Bug?

I think the battery indicator is ok.
Never have seen before such a lot of discussion about such a basic and in some way boring feature :D

But ok: 5 years x Apple
causes some hype everytime.

It could look better but it works and it’s fine. Probably we see some further refinements during the iOS 16 beta process. When somebody doesn’t like it, it’s so simple to turn it off.
okay? to your point?

Bug. I'd report it. It sounds like they're not quite fully baked with the Weather app yet and they should be told of issues like this. There is also the in-app "report issues" button, but that only helps with the pre-populated issues they list.

I think people are thinking about this too hard...If you want the numbers, turn on the numbers. If it bothers you that the battery shows as "full" graphically so you can see the numbers better, deal with it. If you want the old graphical version without numbers, turn that on.

Trying to have both from a UX point of view is too difficult considering the different phone sizes and users....pick one or the other and move on.

I prefer the actual numbers, so if you really want to complain about something, ask Apple to get rid of the battery altogether and go back to just showing the percentage number (not inside battery icon) OR just the battery icon. ;)

Am I stupid or is notification center like way worse than before? Why are you forced to swipe up every time to see notifications? I get using this behaviour from the lock screen but if my phone is unlocked and I swipe to open notification center, there is no purpose having it almost always empty here and requiring a swipe up to see notifications.

I just got a random sound notification (like an emergency notification), but without notification and the phone on silent, so weird. Is that or there is other electronic in a night stand that it has no way to be opened. (Or a ghost with a phone 🤣)

Are you sure you aren't in some sort of "focus mode" that is delaying notifications or do you have the notifications set to only update at certain times of the day?

😆😂 yeah coz C is so easy to read and doesn’t jar your eyes at all. Glad you don’t work at Apple or I would switch to Android 😆😂

Anyone is facing serious overheating when doing wireless charging on standard Qi chargers? I grabbed mine last night as I woke up and it was hotter than I have ever felt it. Only doing wired charging until next beta

Exactly. I don’t mind it as is just the battery looks a little swollen. Needs a touch refinement.

The AppStore stopped working!

Would love a vertical battery or bar that changes green/yellow/red with the numerical percent on the left. No overlay.

With the minimal room. this solution appears "bloated".

Found a bug on the lockscreen, the sunrise/sunset widget is showing tomorrows sunrise when it was suppose to show todays sunset.

I’ve noticed this too.

Also slightly seeing some drain, but my on screen time shows 7+ hours. Figured I’m on it a lot.

Same and my battery is only about 1,5 months old and I set it up completely fresh without restoring from a backup the other day. Been charging it twice already today. Both times it ended up below 40%
