General impressions: beta 5 seems to run much smoother for me than beta 4 did, and with fewer obvious quirks (random performance blips, tap-to-wake delays, apps not responding for a few seconds after launch, etc) — in the immediate post-upgrade timeframe, at least.

That said, a number of the issues I saw with beta 4 and earlier didn't manifest until the devices had been running for some time, so time will tell if any of them come back.

It's interesting that they do the battery percentage thing now. They certainly did work on this for the new iPhones and did a merge just now? The need to flash the software onto them in a few days most likely.

On my iPad Pro 10.5 I am unable to choose a new stock dynamic or stills wallpaper. Nothing happens when I touch Stills. I CAN choose one from my Photo library.
I asked about this above, this is the first ios 16 I’ve installed on my iPad Pro. Neither Dynamic nor Stills are selectable. Like you my photos below those can all be selected. Since you’re seeing the same thing I guess it’s a known issue from before - no one else is commenting. In fact Wallpaper looks just like ios 15 minus the Live selections, but you can’t select Any.

Probably has something to do with which screen size ratios will be translate to the new pill and holepunch configuration.

I thought of that but the screen ratio for the mini is the exact same as the 11's and very close to the 12 and 13 if you round to 2.16:1 aspect ratio.

Plus, I'm not buying the font size is too small because the font size for app names will fit inside the current battery indicator.

Don't have a screenshot or recording at the moment (leaving the house in a few), but on the Lock Screen music player, there's a waveform in the top right corner that moves responsively (somewhat) to the music. Don't recall seeing that on beta 4, but could be wrong!

I wonder what the point of it really is? How much time do you spent on the lockscreen

What is it with 16? This beta is running really well on my XS. Wonder how long that will last though…

Everyone who wants this feature on the 13/12 mini... file a feedback radar about it right now. I am doing this too.

It is absolutely absurd that the phone with the *highest DPI* and *more screen area in the notch than the iPhone X* does not have this feature. There is literally no excuse.

Another reason it may not be on the mini (now or permanently) is that there likely will be no mini going forward.

Does the astronomy wallpaper for the moon actually rotate through cycles now?
Considering this, I don’t think. I just reported it last week.

I am new this time on the beta train. Got a question - notifications only can be shown in the lower part of the screen? I have set it to list and to staple but both appear first at the bottom

Anyone having an issue when typing in the reminder app, a date and time, it doesn’t recognize the actual date and time anymore?

Did my 13 ProMax via OTA for now .... will do ipsw if there are too many issues.....

That said :(

When it rebooted after install, all of the screen backgrounds were black. The initial multi language screen, the Welcome to iPhone screen, until the actual Home Screen showed up, all was Black and White
Apple is probably testing black and white for adding AOD in iPhone 13 pro models lol

I believe it’s new. I’ll submit feedback
I think it’s only affecting the iPads. I got a reply on the Apple forum too. Submitted feedback as well. Everyone here is only looking at their phones so only a few of us have noticed.

Small change, not a fan: wireless CarPlay no longer shows the battery status.

UPDATE: Looked at this more closely this morning, and it's definitely a bug: The battery icon appears to be behind the top sidebar app icon. So I think it'll be back.
