iOS 16 Beta 6 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Theory: someone decided that the time should be sized to stay within the “frame” of the date. Note how in beta 6 the ends of the time line up with the date whereas in beta 5 the time is outside the frame established by the date.

A good test will be if the clock slightly enlarges on Wednesday, which is the longest day of the week, letter-wise.

Yeah, had the same thought on the relative sizing

The missing dialog from behind the black box says: “Tap “Clear” to purchase the pictured stuffed animal for $5,000”.

AMEX is still showing but saying it cannot be used until I remove it and reinstall it.

I’m sure AMEX is thrilled by this!

I do in delete Cupertino and New York and add four new cities but when I go out and come back in Cupertino and New York are back there and none of my new cities.

Probably neither. You’re almost certainly not doing anything wrong. And Apple may or may not not be aware of this particular issue.

If you haven’t read about it being a feature, it’s probably a bug and while asking about it to see if others are experiencing it might be helpful, your intuitions are probably right, and you should report it.

Bottom line: better to over report than to under report.

This is a tad bizarre. I was having this issues on my iphone. I am currently in Europe on vacation sai wanted to sad various cities with no success at all. Went into my iPad and added for cities. Closed weather then reopened Ave the new cities were there. Success at last on my iPad. So then went into my iphone and hey presto the four new cities were now in weather. So the iPhone needed to have the cuties added to the iPad before they would stay on my iphone.
That seems to be rather odd methinks

I had similar weirdness with the first public betas, I just nuked all my saved cities and started again and now everything syncs up fine. Sorry coming in late with the solution but glad it's resolved. New weather app and alerts one of my favourite iOS 16 things.

Thanks for that info. I am also enjoying the new weather apps.
 
I'm interested in the experience others are having with the new Remind Me function in Apple Mail and the changes implemented in the later betas.

The initial behaviour in the early Betas was to place the Email reminder in the Remind Me mailbox and remove the email from the Inbox. When the reminder was due the email reappeared in the Inbox with a remind me flag. While it was a little flaky I liked this this implementation as it reduced clutter in the inbox.

In the later Betas the "remind me" messages remain in the Inbox with the remind me date displayed. I use this feature regularly in the Spark app and was hoping to replace Spark with the native mail app.

If I open the Fitness app on my iPad Pro 10.5 it crashes out after being viewed for 10 seconds. iOS noted one of the crashes and sent a sysdiagnose message to Apple. I don’t have Fitness+ so I am not bothered about the crash. However if Fitness on the iPad only means Fitness+ then it should be labelled as such. I assumed it would give me access to my rings and workout data.
 
Seems like a solid build for me. The annoying blank Now Playing screen has been fixed finally and except for one specific issue with the DIRECTV app pretty much everything’s stellar.
Can’t speak for the battery life yet though.

P.S. Jumped on iOS 16 w/ beta 5 via OTA and then OTA’d beta 6 if anyone else is asking for a friend.

Someone said this was there last beta, but it didn't work for me then and it doesn't work for me now.

I could re-add and bought something from the iTunes store just now to verify they work. Couldn‘t test them at a retailer today though.

I couldn't get this bug to "work" on previous betas, but now I can, only when I choose "Copy & Delete" the deleted screenshot gets put in BOTH the Photos app AND Files app.
 
I made a post over in B5 thread by mistake although my following issue started in B5, but I am currently on B6.

With the latest update I am having issues with my cellular connection on 5G and LTE. Some apps work and some apps don't, it is very strange. On Wifi I have no connection issues on any app. Some apps that cannot connect on my cellular connection are MyVerizon, Best Buy, My banking app NavyFederalCreditUnion, even a system app like mail and a few others I cannot remember off the top of my head. I know it is just these apps because other apps and iMessage work and I can access the websites for the above listed companies and log in and do everything needed. My problem is soley just with a select number of apps (I have not tried every single app I have).

I have tried numerous restarts, removal of sim card, turning off cellular within settings..any advice would be greatly appreciated. I was not experiencing this issue on the earlier builds of 16 just this current one and the last one. I am around Wifi majority of the time so it isn't a major issue especially since I can still technically access needed things through Safari because I don't particularly want to do a restore when say the next update could fix the problem.
