I don’t know if this is a bug or just Siri being Siri but if I ask Siri what the dew point is on my HomePod Mini Siri says ”the dew point is currently 59 degrees”. If I ask what it is on my iPhone or iPad Siri says “I found this on the web” and brings up a list of websites with dew point maps. 😬

I ask my Siri this and I've found I need to be very specific. I have to ask what the dew point is "outside right now" or the reply will be the definition/explanation of what is a dew point.

Just tried this on my HomePod mini. I said “Hey siri what’s the dew point” and she responded correctly. I’m in the UK. Maybe a location thing?

Damned if you are not right.

iPad and iPhone gives me a web list answer.

I’m in California and see the same behavior.
Siri appears (iPad and iPhone) to require very specific wording to give a general answer while HP and other devices do not.
Maybe something to do with “on device”?

I have a feeling it is a location thing. Would be interesting to see if other people in the UK have it work or not…?

Nope, they changed the "Siri activated" sound and when I say "Siri, play xy on Spotify". It does a weird DONG sound like an error message on a frozen Microsoft Windows "window". I prefer the previous sound.
Instead of a frozen window sound, my Siri says “uhm?” when addressed. Which, by the way, makes it a bit awkward to dismiss - feels like I should add a “sorry for bugging you for no reason Siri” 😂

A few weeks ago my HomePod would say it couldn’t answer the question on this device. Now it works fine on the HomePod but not on iPhone and iPad. Maybe Apple thinks it’s a strange question to ask Siri but in the summer time where I live knowing what the dew point is is knowing whether it’s comfortable out or oppressive. 😂

I asked Siri ”What is the current dew point in New York City” on my iPad and Siri replied ”I found this on the web”. I asked the exact same question on HomePod and Siri replied “The dew point is currently 70 degrees. My weather data is provided by the Weather Channel”. 😬

She is OK with relative humidity tho.

Yikes. RAM management is trash in this beta. My safari pages keep reloading every time I open the app.
I had gone through seven apps yesterday, from a game, Outlook, MS Teams, Notes, Voice Memos, etc. and they all went without reloading, they were still loaded in RAM. My experience is that RAM Management is pretty good. Perhaps, it’s just Safari that’s not working well, I didn’t try that.

What’s the experience outside of Safari for you?

I don't think she answers anything anymore. If I wanted to use my iPhone, I would have just used it.

For myself, outside of Safari it is very hit / miss. Not as good as 15.6. Behavior is not consistent.
As for MS apps. if I have Teams open (live) apps and items linked to it are good. That "link" works well.

However, if I go to Mail, download an attachment, open downloaded item via Files, open another app to get some info, go back to the now open downloaded attachment, it's a flip whether it opens or relaunches. Working with docs and pdfs it happens just enough to be a pita. Add in a game or two and it becomes even more of a guess.

For me it is more it acts inconsistent. One time it is too aggressive while another it is more what I expect from it.

I am still on beta 7 and experiencing bad crashes in the middle of doing basically absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. Every time there is a new beta I keep thinking we are far along enough and they are close enough to release that this shouldn’t still be a problem. But as someone who joined in the fun on beta 3, I have installed every week and things have not gotten any better.

Why do I get the feeling that I will have a completely up to date 14 Pro in hand in a few weeks on a final version of iOS 16 that will still be experiencing these issues?

Betas are not a progression. Apple can and likely does introduce issues as we move through the summer as they attempt to isolate other issues.

That said, of course there will still be issues once iOS 16 is released. But for the most part, they are not serious issues.
