I think “You don’t know that” is a rather aggressive reply to someone who has actually done their research.

Also Dark Sky is not a source. Dark Sky use their methodology to interpret other sources. They don’t have their own satellites or weather stations.
It wasn‘t meant to be offensive. I know what Dark Sky is.
Still stands that Apple pretty much never updates official support documents to include new iOS content before said release goes live so this is most likely the iOS 15 list (and we don‘t know if they changed providers in iOS 16).

When I try to listen to VM, once the transcription is done, that are longer than about 15 seconds, the vm will pause, the screen goes dark, then the screen comes back. If I start listening to the vm again it plays okay. This is just for the initial listen.

I have also noticed a degradation in the quality of the transcription. I am getting a lot more ________ even though when listening it is usually clear.

YouTube PiP has suddenly stopped working on my M1 iPad Pro, iPadOS 16.1 PB.

I have YT Premium, “Start PiP automatically” is still enabled in Settings-General, and I’ve rebooted. YT app was last updated 22 Aug.

Anyone else?

Same here, iPad mini with the 16.1 dev beta and whatever latest Youtube is (premium family sub)... PIP worked fine until yesterday or day before.

For some reason, adding extra clicks is the new thing Apple is doing. Same as the "share" options in MacOS Ventura.

As more features get added and are hidden or otherwise provided without good documentation (hello Stage Manager!) we'll end up with functions like the 3D-Touch issue where no-one uses it, developers don't code for it, and it gets dropped.

(Who's still using Back Tap? Mine kept being triggered each time I put my phone down, so I disabled it pretty quickly.)
Well, we had a mic for a voice message, and a mic for dictation and I’m assuming someone thought that would be confusing. But the voice memo isn’t that difficult in the new interface.

As for tap back, if they removed it, what would happen to all the click-bait articles on the top 10 features you never existed on an iPhone?

I didn't find it offensive or aggressive myself, as an observer. Some people are just curt by nature and that's fine. We're not all the same people, we have different styles of talking & online removes tone, etc. Some people just need to remember that and take a beat.

Anyone have any issues turning Apple Cash on? It's saying that "Could Not Connect to Apple Pay" when I try to activate it

On my M1 iPad Pro, with Stage Manager enabled and the Recent Apps sidebar hidden, when I mouse over to the left side of the screen to show the recent apps sidebar, it causes the screen to go black with a spinner, then it goes back to the Lock Screen. I think that’s a respring, yes? Used to know the term for it but my brain is full of other things these days.

Anyone else? I’ve submitted feedback with a video (see attached).

The keyboard lag is back and it’s as terrible as ever. I cannot type to people at all, it takes me forever. I just tried to type the word “Clinton” and iOS really gave me something like “l hdf un” or something similarly nonsensical, even with all the spaces like that. I can’t even explain how bad the lag is and the constant incorrect corrections.

Hard restart?
not just a power off and on

Indeed! All the other apps follow the same logic and suddenly for Mail it is different. I reset my iPhone a while ago and also wondered why I am not receiving noticiations on my Lockscreen, even though everything seemed enabled until I noticed this additional „customize notifications“ at the very bottom. At least put the customize notifications part right below the alerts section.
I think you are missing the notification settings of all other Apple stock apps- Photos, Messages, Calendar. They all are identical to Mail app notifications option, and have customise notification option at the screen bottom.

I didn't take any offense. I stated what Apple itself published. If it's accurate or not, it's up to them.

The latest iPadOS16.1 updated convinced me to stay with my M1 iPad. I had a 2018 iPP and was trying out an M1. I don’t use an external monitor and Stage Manager was too buggy to really use effectively. But the 16.1 updated fixed a few issues I was having and made it an easy decision to keep the M1.

Mainly I wasn’t keeping the “Most Recent” apps or dock open and when an app was moved to the left, sliding the mouse over didn’t expand the recent apps. Also without the Magic Keyboard, it was impossible to resize apps with my finger. So it was useless without the keyboard. For me, both have been fixed with 16.1 and I’m loving SM.

2 months of wondering why I wasn’t getting banner notifications and app icon badges on the mail app on my phone but it was working fine on my iPad and I FINALLY compared the settings app on my phone to my iPad. Banner notification and badges are completely missing from the page on my phone but are there on my iPad.

This is what happens when you look but don’t pay attention to what you’re looking at…because I’ve checked the settings before…but didn’t compare them side by side 🤦‍♂️

If the setting wasn’t on EITHER device, I’d think it was maybe an intentional change. But it’s still on one. I’ve caught a lot of small little bugs throughout these betas and then I miss this glaringly obvious one 🤦‍♂️
Reinstalling the app will bring the missing tab back. It happened before when moving from iOS 14 to 15

Guys, seriously, my battery health was 96% in jun, and now 88%…

The optimized charge does not work since my iPhone Xr (now i’m on 12), and I can’t even put my phone to charge at night before sleep because in the morning the screen freezes (all black)

I get this phone in jan/2022 (he’s on warranty)

In my experience I had a similar, but not as drastic time on betas. I went from 98% to 92% during iOS 15 on my release iPhone 12.

My battery habits were leaving it charging over night with optimised on.
Also I would use a Belkin wireless charger, bought from Apple, so the phone got a little hot.

I then set up an alarm/shortcut which, when I charged my phone once a day and it hit 100%, I unplugged it. I’ve stopped using wireless charging pads and charging all through the night. If my phone drops in the day to 30% I charge it up as and when I need it, keeping the drain out of the red.

This dramatically stopped the drop in health and around March time when it went to 89% I got the battery replaced. (Paid)

My phones health is still at 100%, and I’ve been using it through the whole of ios16 with the same method - but that could also just mean ios16 has been a better beta experience on my phone.

Take from that what you will. And I’m not saying my behaviour is right, it just works for me and seems to be working very nicely for my phones health. I suppose I’m saying, you’re not alone and these things can happen on betas 👍🏼
