Well, that's annoying! BC Lotteries app crashes when you have a winning ticket (possibly it's their winning ticket sound that's forcing the app to abend?). Reported.

I'll send the BCLC guys an email letting them know as well.

Edit: They emailed me back the same day that they're working on it. A lotteries app and they're that quick to respond.

Vs...CIBC - the most popular banking app in Canada...who hasn't fixed a damn thing in how many beta builds???? *sigh*

Edit2: The BCLC guys updated their app yesterday (Saturday the 10th) and fixed the issue with you being kicked out when you tried to access updated tickets. Two day turnaround to fix a bug. Awesome support by these guys! :)

I believe it’s normal for the phone not to connect to Wi-Fi until after unlocking the first time after a reboot because the phone remains encrypted and it can’t access the stored passwords to log on to any Wi-Fi networks.

Just checked and my grand-daughters 11 shows the wifi status icon. On 15.6.
Mine just shows 5G.

If I look at my wifi I can see both devices and they say disconnected.

Thanks

They should be able to release apps with iOS 16 specific code at this point (I've already seen 7 or 8 updates this morning with comments like "updated for iOS 16" or similar) ... but clearly, the issue lies with the app developer and not Apple.

When you update to RC from a beta the Fb app disappears. RC isn’t immune to the Fb app as installing the profile on any build would bring back the app. But we can circle back to it after 16.1, 16.2 RC with our observations.
If the behavior’s changed in iOS 16 that’s another thing but it wasn’t the case until iOS 15. You can do a quick search in iOS 15 forums and can confirm for yourself. Shouldn’t take more than 10 mins.

Here’s your post in 15.5 confirming it was gone after RC

Actually, it seems that it behaves differently for a major release beta to RC, to a point release beta to RC, as for 15.0 and 14.0 it went after profile removed and then reboot, but the point release seems to be on the update itself. That’s my experience anyway.

Dave to Danielle part seems political and off topic so I can’t continue this further as per the forum rules. Apologies!

How about change of name from Daniel to Christopher, then. So it’s not ‘political’ at all (which is a daft excuse). 😋

You remove a profile it’s gonna go away regardless of the beta designation. But it is an interesting observation. I’ll have to test it out for iOS 17 release.

I was merely trying not to indulge in that discussion anymore.
It was a valid point though. People are corrected for saying things wrong all the time. It’s weird that you’re taking umbrance on this occasion. I therefore expect you to protest anyone else that corrects someone for an error in threads going forwards.

I’ve just checked one of the other work devices that’s still got the profile on, and feedback app was there. Removed profile, it was there until I rebooted the device. Then it was gone.

I very much welcome course correction but not in a snarky way. If someone answered to the OP’s question after correcting that GM is no more instead of just responding with that build doesn’t exist it’d be adding to the discussion.

Maybe it is different for major .0 releases so I’ll test that theory out for iOS 17 again as all my devices are already updated. But the specific behavior I was referring to involves just the update to the RC build. And even then I believe it’s merely hidden.
Profile on the other hand is like the Mighty Almighty. He who giveth can taketh away.

Although the Fb app and GM/RC debate is related to beta it’s trivial so don’t think either of us can add any more. So let’s head back to the bug train in the RC.

I didn’t read it as sarky. maybe you’re reading into it too much.

With regards to the Feedback app, I’ve checked with 4 more work devices. 5 now all doing the same. So there you go. That’s how it works on x.0 currently.

paging via app slowdown

Saw this when on Kindle and PDF Expert then realized it was in a lot of places including the Home Screen.
Speed when flipping to another page (screen) - it is slower

If I open Kindle on 15.6 or on Android, I can change pages as fast as I tap. Same thing in pdf readers I use.
On 16 RC is executes at a slower measured pace. Tap fast or slow the speed maxes out quickly.

When flipping through the Home screens … same issue. It is no longer fast. Smooth? Oh yeah. Use the page indicators to switch pages and it is fast.

Tried several apps and most are slower. Scrolling is still fast. Flipping pages is not.

Same apps on iPad Pro 11 16.1 is a lot faster.

Hmmmmm

Anyone able to use the Apple TV remote app on their phone? It’s been missing for awhile. I tried repairing with my Apple TV but still same issue.
The “app” has been discontinued for a few iOS releases now. It’s now built into iOS. You can now add it and launch it straight for Control Center, or even Siri.

Siri seems to be having request issues when using hey Siri and dictation, any one with issues?

New issue with Maps with CarPlay. While the device is connected in your car, use maps on your iPhone to search for a venue (one with multiple locations - such as chain stores) - you're then unable to select the location on your iPhone from the list - you can only do so on the CarPlay screen.

Reported.

Oh...and the eDeposit functionality in the CIBC app is still broken. The bank's development team still haven't fixed it....even though it was reported at the start of the Public Beta. :(

I don’t mind it but is it normal that the VPN logo is no longer shown when I swipe down? I have Lockdown running 24/7 but there is no VpN logo

With RC I am finding the only way I can tell my VPN is running (ProtonVPN) is look in the app or in settings. Status bar and widget are incorrectly displaying the status.
Was showing correctly in beta 8
Showing correctly on iPad Pro 11 16.1.
