All of this waiting… hopefully the build won’t end in a Q or worse. Lol

The thing about every build released in a beta is that it is deemed acceptable for release by Apple’s QC reviewers. A “Q” released beta should be just as fine to the public as an “A” build: they both passed QC, presumably with the same requirements to do so.

The difference is how they got there, i.e., how many times it took to get a passing grade. That’s more a problem, I would think, for the developers, who need to refine their code so it performs as intended the first (or first few) compile(s).

Well, iOS 16.4 is going to be a significant update. It should also be released with Apple Spring Event in March. I also have a feeling Apple is focused more on iOS 17 now.
I always wondered around what time they start to taper off the current OS and fully allocate resources to the upcoming... I always pictured one guy left doing bug fixes for the current os all by himself lol.

Can't believe Timmy Apple is really going to make us wait until the next business week until we get another tasty beta  Not sure I'm gonna make it..
I was really hoping we would see a new beta today but it's all good. Friday is almost here. Hopefully early next week we shall see a new beta. My fingers will stay crossed! 🍀🤞🏻🧧

They may be focused on the VR headset but we're still waiting for the Apple savings account, Apple Pay Later and Apple Music Classical app. I'd expect at least one of those in 16.4.

Apple is focusing too hard on AR/VR headsets this year but we were warned about this. Expecting to see all the features you listed on iOS 16.4. We just have to get through February. March seems like a compelling month for official iOS 16.4.

I'm not so sure.. Seems like a lot to be holding off until a "x.4" release, no? Apple Classical's Music "app" has been talked about for a while. I bet they revamp the Music app to include a better Classical Music section. I'm not sure why a NEW app would be warranted.. Apple Savings & Pay Later can be switched on Server Side, too, right?

This seems logical to me!

I will go against the usual grain here and say that there is a modest (15-20%) chance we see 16.4b1 today. The usual concerns about a Friday release are less for the release of a dev beta. Also, there's the possibility that it was supposed to ship yesterday but the apparent 1-day delay in the release of HomePod/tvOS releases also pushed back a 16.4 b1 release a day, as well.

As I said, this is still very unlikely but not out of the realm of possibility.

Has there ever been a Friday release? I can't remember

Apple is very busy with iOS 17. It’s in full swing. Just waiting for MacRumors to post an article about recent iOS 17 web traffic activity. 💫
