After about 17 hours of use, the beta feels like a production quality release on my 17 Pro Max. It certainly feels better than 26.0.1, which I actually found quite good too.

Funny thing is, I tried the new opacity reduction toggle in settings and whilst it's fine, I ended up switching back to full liquid glass, even though initially I didn't like it. I don't particularly mind it on the phone now. It must've grown on me.

ah ah, I did exactly the same !
26.0: oh, liquid glass is not awful, but not perfect...
26.1b1: oh, I prefer the new tinted glass
26.1b4: oh, we have the choice, nice ! I will stay tinted all my life !
12h later: mmmhhh... clear glass is nice after all...

The only thing I don't like, is that on an iPhone 13 (mini) the static edges on widgets, icons, and the dock look ugly.

Yeah I agree. But I think it’s finally dialed in with balance between the clearness but still has the controls with enough contrast where you can see them. Really liking it now myself.

Risk what on the Air? People run it on anything it runs on, from iPhone 11 onwards. 🤔
I meant like bugs I don’t need. Like the one about app updates staying stuck sounds really annoying. Or the one about stutters when going from widget screen on the left to the home screen. Neither of those affect 26.0.1 so those are the two stopping me from jumping into this.

also is this annoying issue with that checkmark bar with arrows in safari blocking text boxes fixed in this beta?

Are anyone else having problems using the keyboard-cursor after updating to iOS 26? When trying to select text it just selects alle text with the slightest movement. On iOS 18 I was able to select individual words and letters.

Interesting. So the app outline redraw was happening intentionally as a battery saving measure. That would mean that battery might be worse in regular mode now. Hmmm
Still occurs even when not in low battery mode.

Besides that, my feedback report says that there are more than 10 similar reports, so I’m confident that it will be fixed for the official release.
Wouldn’t hold my breath, but hopefully it will be fixed at some point. The app icon and folder redrawing has been reported since 26.0 was released, FBA has shown more than 10 reports since that time and still not fixed. At this point I believe they will figure out just what in 26 is overtaxing the system even in the new devices (17PM) by ios 27.

Lol just realised that the clock app still not using the Liquid Glass buttons when you turn off and on the alarm clock.

Never noticed this for charging!
But unfortunately it just comes up when the phone was locked and you turn the screen on.
If you are using the phone regularly while charging and you swipe down from the left side, this charging info isn’t there.

The battery life seems incredibly good on my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Has anyone noticed a significant battery improvement?
It’s way too early. Was pretty happy with the 17 pro from the beginning but still thought it could be better. Will tell in a couple of days if it runs longer.
