Nice addition for alarm stop, but still no independent alarm volume option. Come on Apple! How hard is it to have a constant alarm volume set, without worrying about changes to ringtone or system volume. And no, getting an app I need to subscribe to monthly to control my alarm volume is a joke for something that should be default.

Do you use the Sleep/Wake Up alarm? It has it’s own volume setting that’s independent from notification volume

With the incoming update, while I am still 'asleep', as my alarm goes off, instead of merely PRESSING the stop button, I now need to be focused and clear headed enough to perform a swipe.

Okay, got it...
That’s the point, right? You can always tap snooze to shut it up but at least it will wake you up again if you fall back asleep on accident

I set a bunch of alarms during the day for various things, so if I do this update I'll apparently have to slide an on-screen switch to turn off the alarms instead of just tapping. No way am I doing that. This should be optional. They've ruined the alarm function.
It takes very little effort, and it’s very big and easy to swipe. I use a lot of alarms and I think it’s great.

Apple Int. Is just Bloatware.
Any fixes?, like settings app NOT finding settings when typed by name?

staying on iOS 18 for a good long while
I don't know why anyone gave you a downvote. How is your decision to stay on iOS 18 affecting anyone but you? I'm interested in the feedback people give here after 26.1 is released. I'll base my decision to upgrade on what people say about it. Don't let anyone pressure you to upgrade if you don't want to.

Yeah, it needs to just do what you want knowing that you aren't awake enough to tell it what you want.

By the way, if you aren't very awake yet, how do you know you need to hit the stop button and not the snooze button? And if you are awake enough to know then why aren't you awake enough to know how to swipe?

A question for anyone who has complaints about battery life in 26.0 and has the 26.1 beta - has there been any improvement in battery life?

Hopefully one of the "features" will be the my iPad will not longer drop wi-fi randomly which it has continued to do since I took it to iPadOS26

Still keeping my 16Pro on the blessedly Liquid Glass-free iOS 18.

Actually, that's an exaggeration. iOS 18 isn't entirely Liquid Glass-free. The last update changed the Apple Support icon to a Liquid Glass-like one with the ugly "shiny" borders. I deleted it.

All I want is a separate SPEAKER button when I make calls. WHY do I have to press through a menu jsut to select speaker when im driving? This is as stupid as not including COPY and PASTE in the early days. Do apple employees not use the phone for making calls?
It’s plain dumb to have 2 menus for calls. Should be 1 menu.

It is optional, and thanks to a previous MacRumours tip on it.

Accessability -> Touch -> Prefer Single Touch actions.

You can also mount your phone to a magsafe charger in Landscape mode, which also disables it. (Maybe not the smartest choice by Apple for those who like the clock stand-by display at night, but then, trying to perform the slide upwards would likely topple the charger and smash the phone).

No one uses the multi windows on iPad....it's just so complicated...
That’s the best feature of 26. I’ve been wanting it for years. I use my 13” m4 with a second monitor 49” ultrawide and now with multi windows I can run it like it’s a MacBook. But I guess if you only use your iPad like an iPhone then everything will be full screen for you.

"AirPods Live Translation Languages: […] Chinese (both Mandarin Traditional and Simplified)"

Traditional and Simplified refer to writing, not to speech.

This update is utter nonsense. And sleep score is a disaster. Hopefully 26.2 is better. My God Apple is mediocre BS right now.

Will be updating soon. Slide over on iPad is useful. Better control for Liquid Glass is welcome. Option to disable slide to open camera in lock screen is another great addition.
