well, sometime between me installing RC and getting a chance to install the final release, it seems that my 14 Pro Max bit it hard! I’ve since ordered a decent looking 15 Pro Max

When my ”new” iPhone arrives I will test doing a complete restore/upgrade to 26.4 with Apple Devices

I updated to the official release after having the public RC beta and now my Apple Music app is wonky as heck. When you go to a song, even though I have everything on dark mode, it flashes “light” for a second before dark mode.

Now messages as well, cmon apple wtf

I am so confused by this. I have a 17 Pro Max, and my apps don’t reload on 26.4. They did on my 16 Pro Max for some reason, but not on my 17 Pro Max.

I have had zero performance issues as well. I don’t know what kind of apps you are running where its causing it to reload apps, but that should never happen unless you are running several very big and memory intensive apps at once, like games.
I’m running basic apps like Facebook or instagram, nothing taxing by any means but scrolling and general app performance is ass, scrolling the Home Screen occasionally is laggy switching pages, very basic apps show significant lag or frame rate stuttering, why did my previous S24+ Snapdragon have zero stuttering or any kind of lag but my top of the line iPhone does, it’s upsetting.

Not experiencing any of this on my iPhone. Instagram and Facebook and every other app I run on my phone are buttery smooth for me, as is scrolling between home screen pages; I have had zero issues with app performance or general phone performance full stop.

However, it should be said that Meta’s apps are kind of garbage, they are written poorly and they don’t use native code; they use React Native which uses HTML, CSS, and JS for the app implementation.

Did 26.4 break CarPlay for anyone else? It won’t load at all on a 15 Pro and 17 Pro.

Have you tried unlocking your iPhone, as I have to do it often after an iOS update. It’s just the first time I attempt to use it with CarPlay after the update, then it settles.

Woke up to this regarding disappearing Local Capture, they're really struggling with this one, it's been so long...

The 26.4 RC version must've had extra logging added or sum, because it caused my iP17 to heat up abnormally at times. This stable public version has fixed that

iOS 26.4 is still quite poor for me on my iPhone 17 Pro Max. I’m experiencing random Safari glitches where audio recording becomes distorted, and in some cases webpages continue playing sound even after switching to a different section of the same site with no sound. Battery drain is also more noticeable on iOS 26.4 compared to previous versions. On top of that, system animations feel laggy, especially when multitasking, and overall performance drops when switching between apps particularly when using the Camera app or apps that more performance hungry alongside other apps. Overall, the update still feels unpolished for a flagship device.

Hi, has anyone realise that in IOS 26.4, when charging limit is set to e.g 90%, the battery optimised battery charging is still turn on. Is it normal? Or is it a bug?
same here. maybe an brand new feature. but i think it simple a bug.

just to mention it: macOS 26.4 behaves the same way

Same here. I think it's a bug because it charged fast as usual till the 80% I had set.

I'm sick of updates. Six gigs? All they do is keep coming and filling my storage space and honestly, I see no difference and really no see no improvements. Y'all believe what you want to believe.
This is an Apple scam designed to fill your device until you run out of space so you have to get a new one.

Got a new T-Mobile carrier update before this update to 69.1
I’m with US Mobile, and have Light Speed (T-Mobile) as my primary carrier. I get a prompt about a carrier update for T-Mobile, but when I hit Update, nothing happens. We’ve tried a new eSIM, and while doing that I was on AT&T and Verizon. No update button until I installed the new T-Mobile eSIM and I’m back to there being an update and I can’t get it. I’m on 69.0 and I assume the new one is 69.1. Hoping someone fixes that soon!! Even reset Network settings, removed all VPNs, etc. Even installed a T-Mobile APN file. No luck there either. Other than that issue, the update is good!

The system downloads all the files it might need and then deletes the redundant files during the “preparing update” stage.
Next time, check the storage during the preparing stage and you’ll notice it’s usually about 2GB or less.

The actual space taken up by iOS is more or less the same and can be checked anytime in the storage section.
Enough with the conspiracy theories.

It’s been an issue for many according to Reddit. For now, there’s no known workaround.

I am in the same boat. And before anyone else replies and tells me to restart my Apple TV or my router, I am an IT Director with 30+ years of software and networking engineering experience. I have already gone through multiple rounds of extensive diagnostics to try to solve the issue. There is a serious issue between HomeKit and Hue. Also, all of my other HomeKit devices work, only Hue, and only since 26.4. I have over 80 hue lights, and am not going to go through the process of re-adding them one by one to HomeKit after deleting the link between the two. Unless there is a quick fix, I'm going to setup HomeBridge on a Raspberry Pi and access Hue via HomeKit that way.
I don't have a Hue, but I am a proud Homebridge on Raspberry Pi person and love bridging the gap. It's a great solution on the Pi.

Have a look at the release notes for nearly every update and especially the bug and security issues that have been addressed. Do a bit of a deepdive into some of the CVE's listed and what they are all about.
