Oh, it’s been like that for me for a very long time. Definitely since the iOS 26 beta cycle, can’t recall if it was that way before. I figured that’s just how it is, though I can’t understand exactly why it would have such a long slow startup. For reference I have about ~40 or so tabs left open at all times.
I didn’t start having this issue until 26.4 DB2. It genuinely makes it unusable for quick google searches.

I only have 4-8 tabs left open ever. Doesn’t seem to affect it.

Same with everyone here. Which is why they moved on to better alternatives.
3Utools has been ok, never caused a problem for me though I do prefer to use official software - WHEN it’s usable. I know you will be quick to say just use iTunes but I have yet to see anyone successfully explain how to revert to iTunes, everything remains tied to Apple Devices for the time being.

Is playlist playground going to be available in the UK or is it US only? Can’t find any official mention?

Did I hear that 26.4 brings the blood oxygen data back to the Vitals area of the Health app?

I’m not seeing it, but perhaps it’ll appear after a few nights of sleep?

Tell me if it’s only me. Phone app is broken. When i tap to call a contact from contacts tab it says call failed. It works ok from recents tab. Same happens from contacts app. It’s been like this since beta 4. Has to be the new phone icon they added in contact details (alongside the icons for each detail, mail etc)
Just tried Phone, contacts, recent and favorites. All worked and completed the call. 17 PM

I don’t have an Apple Watch anymore but Blood Oxygen is showing in my vitals with my old data.

Oh, you’re absolutely right. This issue and the general en********ation of Google has made the ChatGPT app my first go-to for many searches, sad to say it. If nothing else it’s so much faster than waiting for Safari to start up.

I was just going to suggest that but it seems there are users who live for the drama of what terrible choices they have…
There’s no need to be smarmy or rude about me simply asking “hey, you know Apple’s thing that sometimes works or sometimes doesn’t, how is it acting up this week?”

Would you prefer I don’t ask? If someone else already tests it, it can be avoided. Or safely recommended. All depending. Apple is the world’s biggest tech company, surely they aren’t making this program just for me. I certainly didn’t ask for it

Is it working by going to contact details and tap the tiny phone icon? They added that recently to contact details in 26.4 beta 2 if I’m not mistaken. So sad to hear it. Will try hard reset.

Guys, I have just had an IPSW installation on a MacBook Pro 2015 failing on my iPhone 17.

Got an error message saying it did not work out and the iPhone could be Updated (keeping the data) or Restored to Factory settings (erasing everything). So I opted for the former one and got it back to 26.3.1.

Then installed MobileDevice.pkg from the latest Xcode beta and only then was able to install 26.4 RC.

So if you go ISWP route, install the Xcode or just MobileDevice.pkg from it first, it could save you some time and energy!

PLEASE someone tell me the safari hang time on launch issue is fixed. PLEASE.
UPDATE: I think I've fixed it, maybe.

Cleared ALL search history from Safari in settings turned off Private Relay, then restarted my phone. When I turned it back on, I re-enabled Private Relay, and it is suddenly working without any hangups.

Hopefully this works for you too.

I am still having my previously documented issues with Safari in this RC. New feedback supported, FB22274055, as the old feedback, FB22107446, went from “more than 10” to “none” in recent similar reports.

For those that don’t know, I and a few others have been having issues when Safari is launched “fresh” (i.e. not loaded in the background). It takes 20+ seconds to begin loading any web page. Once it’s loaded, Safari works as expected, but as soon as it is closed/no longer kept in memory, same issue. Disabling extensions, Private Relay, and WiFi Assist have not helped.

Unbearably bad.
Not experiencing this at all.

I use Safari A LOT and have never seen this occur. At worst it maybe takes a few seconds from a cold launch to draw all of the Favorite website favicons, but as soon as I tap on a link or go to a URL, it flies there instantly.

Have you perhaps tried clearing your existing website data from the Safari settings? I would just nuke everything, and see if that possibly has any impact.

I use an ad-blocking extension and sometimes a dark reader extension and never have seen this kind of issue on my 16 Pro.

(Installing 26.4 right now but have been on 26 beta before launch and this issue never occurred then either)

i woke up this morning to my 14PM at 100% battery, as it always is when i leave it plugged in over night. However after playing with it for a couple of minutes, business as usual, it actually fully shutdown and restarted with 1% battery! I also could not keep the phone powered on for long while plugged in, even after moving to a fast charger. It would not budge from 1%, it would stay powered on for a minute or two before shutting down and restarting again. this cycle went on for about an hour or two.

eventually, on one of these restart cycles while i left my phone plugged in, i found my phone magically powered back on at about 84% battery, instead of 1%. it's been acting as "normal" again since this morning. But I am a little hesitant to initiate an update when the device is unstable and could just lose power any second in the middle of it!

not sure what to do. I think the culprit is a 3rd party battery replacement I installed less than 3 months ago. It was GREAT at first, but I'm surprised it degraded so rapidly. I ordered an OEM battery so I think I am going to wait until it arrives and I install it, so I can safely install this IPSW. as much as I want 26.4 now I will just have to wait a couple of days

I did in fact just nuke EVERYTHING and it is now working as expected. See my above post for methodology.
