I don’t get why beta 5 and now 6 are so small for me OTA. iPhone 15 Pro model. Downloading ipsw this time to hopefully make sure all is good, just in case

Funny, for me it was 1 GB on the 16 Pro Max but 10 GB on the M4 iPad Pro. Go figure.

Apple Devices IS official software, and I was told it works perfectly. There'd be nothing to rage about if that were actually the case

OTA? I prefer to not do this, I update via IPSW whenever possible. If anyone is making the standard update procedure difficult, it is Apple

How is Apple giving you options to update, making it difficult?

OTA is easiest way and my iPhone never broke when doing it - I think you need to do it OTA, where’s the problem ?

yes, I moved to 3utools because Apple Devices did not function as expected. It has been unusably broken for a long time and after my latest attempt I will have to stick by that assessment, despite all efforts on this forum to gaslight me into thinking otherwise. The unofficial tool is able to successfully do the job whereas Apple's software is not

You could go easy as most of us do, and do it via OTA and stop getting on our nerves

I notice my 16 PM was a bit warm when installing but I use the IPSW files so I guess it didn't have time to heat up that much since those go fairly quick and most of the processing (downloading/expanding) is done on my MacBook, right?, whereas going the OTA route, the iPhone has to do it all..

make sure you do an extra forced reboot... seems silly but it seems to help on mine after an install..

Maybe you misunderstand the purpose of the tool and that's why it has "been unusably broken for a long time" in your opinion..

looking at the tool, it is designed to sync content (to and from the device), back up the device and restore backups to the device.

But you seem to be trying to use it to install an IPSW. I could be wrong, but I don't think that is the intended purpose of that tool.
