I haven't installed any of the betas but feels like we're in for another rough year again.

I'm getting memories of iOS 11 (notifications flying around the screen) and iOS 13 (just plain unstable).

You must be new here. Apple has released buggy iOS initial release versions going back to the debacle that was iOS 11. Maybe even longer than that!
I'm mostly talking about the UI bugs/issues since this is a redesign. I'm sure they want iOS 26 to be well received as it's the biggest refresh in 12 years.

x.0 release is usually unpolished but it seems beta 8 is still a little too much so for a final.

26 is infinitely better than those two. These are graphical glitches but they’re smaller and subtle and the average user will ngaf. The speed up in animations? A fresh design language? Better keyboard? These are things users will see and appreciate

Anyone else here still seeing magically growing clock text? I set it to one size, and after a bit of time it switches to a random much larger size. I also see the text size jump when pulling down to view notifications.

By the way, I hope everyone whose complained about a bug here has filed a ticket. It ain't getting fixed if no one points it out.

Agreed. These are minor bugs. Most people won't notice/care. Eg. I notice them but don't care. I think 26 is fantastic.

I am hoping that for the RC, they are focused on improving the UI glitches, because I do feel like everything they’ve done in the last two betas are focus on stability and under the hood improvements.

Based on BB’s latest video, I’d suspect that there have been major under the hood fixes as his geekbench score had a decently significant jump from last beta. May not be reliable enough of a test… but I think it’s worth mentioning.

Not that we should reward being merely adequate, but I will say this refresh is launching in drastically better shape than the last major overhaul in iOS 7. There are still a bunch of visual issues, but the basic foundation is more solid. I think the primary differentiator this time around is Apple is providing options – in iOS 7 it was "don't like a flat design? There's always Android."

Huh. B7 borked Google Drive Sync for me. I'm getting the file provider error. B8 hasn't fixed it. I guess it could be unrelated? I know it's off topic, but has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on getting file provider access reset?

None of the bugs I’ve ever reported have ever been fixed. It’s starting to seem like it’s useless to report them or submit feedback.

I can't believe we're this far along and the Mail App in iPadOS 26 still only has the Select Option in the Main Inbox or All Inboxes, not in other folders like Junk or Trash.. So if you want to clear all emails from the trash, you now have to swipe swipe swipe swipe swipe...

First they take away the "Empty Trash" option, not they removed the option to select multiple emails LOLOL

I really dislike how un-glass-like the control center is. I’m assuming they are done with tweaks but it hardly looks different to iOS 18. The background of control center is darkened and blurred so heavily it’s the one place a highly transparent glass look wouldn’t have readability issues.

Is that new?
