Still annoyed about the lack of a skip button in the collapsed mini player in Music and Podcasts.

It was there in the WWDC reveal and continues to be a major annoyance
Which mini player? I see a skip button in my music app in the small player on the bottom.

Sigh. The bug when you go to Spotlight and touch on a word to trigger the loupe to move the cursor is still there. Now it's not the brightness - it's just blank.

Spotlight also indexes and shows "Files" despite that being turned off. So f'n irritating.

So far it sounds like we're still experiencing issues introduced with b7.

I was hoping we'd get that b6 polish back. :(
Polish? I don’t remember any bugs brunt fixed with beta 6, one with 7.
When you tap and hold on the Home Screen and tap "edit pages", then immediately tap "done", the screen locks up. Can anyone else confirm?
not happening for me

Here you go

Ah yes sorry I was thinking of the Picture in Picture window.
Yeah, this was a thing in iOS 18 or not?
It’s better this way though. The player is already too small with too little room for song info. I’d like a swipe gesture to flick, but that won’t happen. Even though the light effect would work well with it.

Then again some people would complain also about that apple has lost it‘s way and it’s simplicity with all this little customisation.
Exactly, little customization.
It either fits into their narrow understanding of worthwhile options or it doesn’t exist.
And while Apple is trying to play catch up with their most recent WWDC promises, Android had most of this figured out long before. My SO has a Flip 6 and oh my gawd she has so many QOL options for powerusers it’s laughable what we consider multitasking on the iPhone.
LG serves no purpose but to sell future iPhones (at this point), it’s not practical nor very pretty.
But it’s what Apple allows us to have while missing the mark of what’s important almost ridiculously much.
Back in the day Apple was known for having options, albeit not necessarily visual customization, AND a nice UI, now we can’t have either.

I don't get why the 'shadows' at the top and bottom of the screen have to change color. Same for the status icons. Just make the shadow white in light mode and dark in dark mode. That way it doesn't need to change colors 20 times when scrolling websites or in messages. The way it has been and is now is so distracting.

26 is infinitely better than those two. These are graphical glitches but they’re smaller and subtle and the average user will ngaf. The speed up in animations? A fresh design language? Better keyboard? These are things users will see and appreciate
Better keyboard? What do you mean exactly?

Not that we should reward being merely adequate, but I will say this refresh is launching in drastically better shape than the last major overhaul in iOS 7. There are still a bunch of visual issues, but the basic foundation is more solid. I think the primary differentiator this time around is Apple is providing options – in iOS 7 it was "don't like a flat design? There's always Android."

Options? What options? I can’t get rid of the shimmer effect on the Home Screen, I can’t have a solid Notification Center, I can’t have the old and simple app icons back.
And no, reduce transparency isn’t an option.
It’s an accessibility setting with unintended side effects. Big difference.
