It's a bit early to say this since even those using newer phones are having issues. iOS 26 is still a work in progress.
I hope there’s an Rc 2. My WiFi has gotten forgotten by my phone, backups are inconsistent or not working and all of my non Apple apps & folder icons have randomly switched to only a boarder requiring a respring or reboot and sometimes multiple. Also, my screen is frequently unresponsive. I didn’t have these issues until the last beta. iPhone 13p
So I upgraded to iOS 26 rc yesterday....
None of my NFC yubikeys works. Zero. They work if plugged into the phone, they just don't work via NFC, anyone else having problems or are able to test theirs out? It works on an iPhone with iOS 18 via NFC.

My YubiKey 5 NFC working with NFC. iOS 26 RC and iPhone 16 PM.
Edit: Got out my second YubiKey to test, and that worked fine, too.

I had no problems running it on an old 11. People tend to overreact.
I don’t have CarPlay, that could be the difference. I play music through USB on kenwood single din head units. Maps have always worked until B9
I'm using it on the Mini. Performance is fine, if a half beat slower than 18. Nothing crazy. UI is ugly but we knew that already. Interestingly enough we're getting the call screening as well as categorization in Mail and Messages.
the only item I wanted changed was to make the scientific/advanced calculator use RPN like macOS - LPN is a bad joke
Since installing the RC I’ve been having an issue where my phone has been stuck downloading the Apple Intelligence models for the past few days. I have about 50GB of free storage and the phone has been plugged in and on Wi-Fi. Changing the region and resetting all settings hasn’t seemed to have any impact either.

The name iOS 26 suggests that this OS will not be fully functional until next year, am I correct in that assumption?

Considering the crooked software Apple has started making, it is not a fact that this firmware will be completely normal even by 2027.
After a few days it’s been running excellent on my 16 Pro and battery life has improved significantly over the previous betas.
Installed on iPhone 12 Pro, 13 mini, 16e and 16 Pro.
No issues at all.

Is anyone else noticing white borders around the apps and dock? I ran into the same issue on my iPad, and fixing it was as simple as turning off Increase Contrast in Accessibility settings and then doing a hard reset. Unfortunately, that same fix isn’t working on my iPhone. I’ve already submitted feedback to Apple, but I’m not sure if I’ll ever hear back.
Is anyone experiencing loud distorted sound only from podcast and spoken word apps (possibly only mono sources)? This is specifically happening during wired CarPlay in two distinct cars. Music.app seems to be behaving, so I think this is related to mono sources (audiobooks in libby, overcast, podcasts.app).

- I keep the iPad in Dark Mode and am running into a number of sites that display in Light Mode instead of Dark - much worse than previous betas
- Still have some app icons in folder that show dark or light and when expanded show the opposite - been that way for several betas
- sometimes a tab will freeze on load. Killing and reloading fixes for the moment - issue existed in previous betas
- Zoom In on pictures in a web page may cause that page to show extreme frame lag - jittery
Mail
- Select / Select All buttons in folders other than Inbox are finally working 👍
WiFi
- speed will slow to a crawl for no apparent reason. Check of router/modem show all is fine and other devices not affected - did not have this issue in previous beta
Headphones
- AirPods Pro 2 - volume will act as if adaptive randomly - at time NC will cut out in one or both buds. This requires turning off/on in Settings - APP2 not on beta

- use an HP Air Laser Printer. Even though is active at times the print feature cannot find the printer. If I cycle the printer or cycle the device, the printer will show up. This occurs even if I am printing several documents selected in Files. first few may print then the printer stops showing.

16 PM, very happy with 26RC, after one year of buying iPhone, love using Always on display with RC, good battery life too with AOD on.
I have an 11 Pro with a 100% non-original battery (recently replaced) and I haven't had any issues with charging or updating the battery percentage with iOS 26 RC (or even with the previous betas). Actually, I think power management has improved from 18 to 26 in my iPhone.
I don't know if this comment of mine will help you: in your place, I'd try a clean reinstall... it's a pain, but it could fix battery management errors.
