Correct me if am wrong, but from what I remember, the RC build and the final build were last different for iOS 15.
Though, the new phones always seem to launch with a slightly different build with a day one update.

Happy iOS 26 day. Let’s see if we will get a new build as the final. And I hope we will have a lot of app updates today
Pretty sure that we will see a newer build as the RC, but let’s see. Time will tell :)
Already getting some app updates with iOS 26 „support“ and new icons :)
One new app strangely got an update that mentions iOS 26 and got an updated icon, but still uses the old keyboard :/

Thanks' for confirming. Hope for new build then. ;)
So I for the first time have installed the Public beta on my iPad this morning . Just to be 100% sure , if there is a new build, it will show up in the usual iOS Update if I have Betas turned off ? Right ?
Sorry to bug you guys but this is the very first time I’ve done this ;-))) The suspense was too much 😂

Firefox now supports the new keyboard

And now I see it also incorporated liquid glass

The release today will for sure be a different build than the RC build
I'm not so sure! Seems like that could be 50/50.. Things are running "well enough" for most folks, with most issues being the coming updates to the apps after launch. I bet they hold out on fixes and things until a 20.0.1 release.

I already got some app updates at the end of last week, which introduced Liquid A**. Like the Trainline app. Looking to see updates for other apps too, I'm mostly annoyed with the old keyboard and it doesn't play nice with apps like WhatsApp (keyboard covers the content).

Also excited for 26.1 Beta 1, however, I have the bad feeling that Liquid A** or the design inconsistencies won't be addressed anymore. Once the feature is out, they really have no incentive to polish it more, unfortunately. People will use it, regardless of the quality. New features will drive potential new customers, not enhancements to current ones. Unfortunately, this is the software industry nowadays.

Still, as a designer and a product engineer, who focuses on user-facing applications, I still find issues with the new design language and its implementation. So I guess my satisfaction will continue to be low and I will just get used to it. I also have to remember that the average user doesn't care or see the things I see.

I'm expecting the first betas of 26.1 next week, the earliest, but let's see.

Looking back at 18.0, 17.0 and 16.0, the following was the time before the X.X.1 was released.

18.0.1 - 17 days later
17.0.1 - 3 days later
16.0.1 - 2 days later

So we could have this update by end of week or it might even be end of month. This one is way up in the air. I would probably lean towards the week of the 29th.

I turned off beta so kinda hoping to it is a new build just so I can be back to normal. Not sure if there is debugging going on in the background of the RC that could drain the battery.

Does anyone know if Apple Devices has been updated yet? Are we expecting that to get an update around 1 as well?
