I feel like we will get 26.0.1 tomorrow and 26.1 beta 1 next week.

looking at previous releases 18.0.1 was released early october, 17.0.1 a few days after 17 on a thursday so this is a possiblity we could see 26.0.1 as early as tomorrow. there is also possibility there is just an update for the new phones this week 26.0.1 and they release 26.0.2 for everyone else next week or early october. so many different scenarios.

I would agree with this.. Maybe not tomorrow but maybe on Friday. One would assume they'd want to gather some feedback from Non-Dev folks, too. I would think any testing on 26.1 would hold off for a week.

as for the 26.1 beta it should be soon

I’m hoping for the 26.1 beta today. I think it’s pretty likely to drop soon. I’m excited to see what’s new in 26.1! 👍🏻

Just found out that 17.1 beta 1 was released on a friday…

Unless AI is a epic fail, it was released:

iPhone Launch / Delivery was September 22, 2023 which was a Friday.

iOS 17.1 Beta 1 was released on September 28, 2023, which was a Thursday.

I would not anticipate a beta this week because Apple will want to get through the launch of the iPhones before they release anything. In past years they had issues where it was later in the day before the beta for the specific iPhone was available that had already been available for the older phones. That caused restore issues during the mad rush of new iPhones. Just my two cents on why they won't release this week.

I don’t know if AI is wrong in this case or not, but I can say that Google’s AI search summaries almost always tend to get these dates wrong and mixed up. Same when I’ve tried Gemini, Copilot, and Meta in the past.

Update, searched MacRumors, and the 1st beta for 17.1 actually dropped Wednesday September 27, so not the 28th, though not as far off as I’ve gotten from AI on some of these dates before. 👍🏻

Searching for EQ for apple music in the Settings app makes it quit immediately.

Actually searching for any setting related to the Apple Music app in Settings has this effect on the latest 26.0 version.
Hopefully you find a fix for that, but this is the speculation thread, this is the wrong thread for reporting bugs and such. 👍🏻

In the latest version 26, Predictive typing is no longer available (it is disabled and cannot be enabled) - what could be the reason for this?
