First time out with iPhone + AP3 (both with beta software/firmware) on daily walk. There were issues:

  1. Asked for current weather. Response was quick, but Siri just would not exit by itself. I had to swipe away.
  2. Wanted to chat about World Cup. Asked about USA chances.... got the 3 bell "thinking" chime... and then nothing. Asked again, thinking chime, long wait, followed by "having difficulty, please try again". I did ask one more time later in the walk and got a response after a long wait. The response was read verbatim from a website, with no option for discussion.
  3. It struggled with basic, non-AI tasks. Changing stations was a challenge, changing volume was a long struggle including crashing the music app.
Yeah, it's beta. I submitted feedback.

I asked Siri to tell me the football score. Got it. Asked Siri to create a Live Activity for it. Siri refused.

I'll log this as a Suggestion (which no doubt means no one will ever look at it, but I'll do it anyway).

Sorry if this has been addressed: How do I get rid of the "Setup to talk to Siri" badge in settings? There is no way to get it to retrain. I've tried turning Siri on/off, and turning "Talk to Siri" on/off and waiting a few seconds in between. It does not bring me back to the voice training.

I don't have any issues with talking to Siri. Is this just a bug?

The more my 16 PM indexes the better Siri becomes. However, I’m wondering how much bandwidth the new Siri needs to complete a command. I had several bars on 5G and it struggled getting an answer. Even with 2 bars of 5GUE it wasn’t able to complete the task. I asked Siri to get site on the ride home and it couldn’t but at the house on WiFi it did no problem.

New bug …
Ran across a short in YouTube for the soundtrack from Apex where someone swapped the characters. Pretty cool.
I sent it to a bud.

I went back to Messages and played the link. It opened in Safari, didn’t offer a YT option, and in ether portrait or landscape, the controls at the bottom were hidden. You could pull up and see them but as soon as you moved your finger, it dropped off screen.

Does it on both the Air and iPad.

Siri on Air.

I asked Siri about my latest email - what was the subject.
My default email app is Proton Mail. I do use the stock Mail app for my iCloud account. I have no idea which Siri, if she did, tried to access.

Siri responded with “The subject of your latest email is ….” Silence. Then Siri died.
So I tried it again. I got the bell tone for 5x then Siri said “Sorry, something’s wrong. Please try again.”.
Tried it again with the same result.
I got the reply via my APP3 linked to Air and a written version on my iPad.

Well that's interesting so when deleting things in Files/iCloud drive it does not really delete it?

Upgraded an old iPhone 11 and in the files app under iCloud its showing files and folders I deleted over 6 months ago and they have the dotted cloud icon next to the name showing they are in the cloud not the device.

I’ve experienced this, and I realized it was actually the connectivity WiFi bug, and not necessarily Siri.

I suspect there are some bugs related to connectivity in general. I have experienced this delayed responce with Siri. I went to go look it up using safari and couldn’t connect to anything. Once I was able to load a page in safari, I tried the Siri request and she answered with only a very brief delay.

Could be that Proton needs to be updated, which is probably the case for all 3rd party apps. I use the Mail app and tried the same question and received an immediate response with the correct answer and a link to the message

Since I’m still indexing, I’ve refrained testing Siri’s personal context out of fairness, but I did also ask to summarize my inbox. Not only was the response almost instant, the summary was pretty detailed and included information from within the messages as well. Very impressed and love where this is heading

Only if safari is snappier.

Safari isn’t just snappier. It’ll get you insanely drunk, punch you in the face and knock you out, steal your wallet including your ID, then stop by a gentlemen’s club where it’ll book the boom boom room with a stripper named Bambi and 9 months later an infant will show up on your doorstep with your last name on the birth certificate.

My phone has been indexing since Tuesday and only has 10,000 photos and 5gb of iMessage history. On the basis that the more it indexes the better it becomes, I'm hoping for great things when it finishes. I made it through the AI waitlist in just under 24 hours.

Just a note on the bandwidth, I think the cellular bars are an indication of signal strength and quality rather than speed. You can have four or five bars of 5g and still only get 5-10mbps if the mast is congested or you're jumping between towers. You could have just been unlucky.

iOS 27 is the type of release I expected it to be. I haven’t installed it but I’m watching all those videos detailing every little new feature on it.

It seems snappy, fast, refined, stable… and one of the features that is tempting me to adopt it earlier than usual is the 80% faster Airdrop transfer. I’ve been a bit frustrated on the last few years due to failed Airdroo transfers or the ones that actually work, are too slow. Hopefully this is fixed finally (I use Airdrop a lot to snap a photo with my iPhone and transfer it to my iPad).

So… I have the feeling that I’ll update ALL my devices to this new version of the operating system as soon as 27.2 is released. I know… seeing how stable the first beta is, I could be brave and install it by September but I think I’ll err on the cautious side and let myself be impressed by the huge performance and refinement of this operating system, skipping any inevitable early build bugs.

Seriously, iOS and macOS 27 systems are so mature now, that I’m a bit afraid of what they may attempt to do with iOS 28. Maybe iOS 27 is the new iOS 12, and macOS 27 the new Mavericks or Monterey…

I'm not sure if there's an easier way (I tried just opening the camera to the QR code and it failed) but ...

If you have a photo or app (e.g. Mail) that has a QR code in it, and you take a screenshot of it, an option pops up to add this to Wallet.

I've just added a couple of emailed IKEA vouchers to my wallet. Whether Ikea will scan it ok, I'll find out in a week or two.

I’m still indexing, and I’ve read it only indexes while charging. I realized, I never plug-in, all my charging is inductive

Could it be that the trigger to index is plugging in physically only?

My WiFi keeps disconnecting and reconnecting . Turned off connectivity assist but still happens
Same here. iPhone 17 Pro. Might not be noticeable in some use cases since it seems to switch to cell data when WiFi disconnects. But I first noticed it running a ham radio remote that includes streaming audio. In that case, switching to cell data interrupts the connection and the audio stops along with the connection.... and it happens every minute or two in that configuraiton. Feedback sent.

EDIT: While I watched, it disconnected from WiFi, reverted to cell data and then re-connected to WiFi with no active app and no active data connection. So it is not confined to apps that use data.
