Could be that Proton needs to be updated, which is probably the case for all 3rd party apps. I use the Mail app and tried the same question and received an immediate response with the correct answer and a link to the message

Since I’m still indexing, I’ve refrained testing Siri’s personal context out of fairness, but I did also ask to summarize my inbox. Not only was the response almost instant, the summary was pretty detailed and included information from within the messages as well. Very impressed and love where this is heading

Good to know. I set Mail as the default and it did work. Went back to Proton, and Siri ran into an issue.
Proton is the latest but likely does not have the 27 bits. Then I tried Calendar and asked for the next appointment.
Error. I did a double check to make sure that Siri had access to these apps. Apparently it has default access. Not Sure I like that. 🧐

Good to see it is at least heading in the right direction. Not bad for beta 1.

After 5 days of waiting I finally got the new Siri…

…and apparently this new Siri can’t handle being asked “who is this?” when listening to Apple Music? Old Siri would always identify the song immediately.

Wouldn't it be faster to just check “Now Playing” on the lock screen to identify the song ? 😇

Interesting that the new Siri changes the notification animations. I like them swooping in from the upper left, but why does Siri determine that behavior?

I have a very weird problem. I've not logged a Feedback as there's a high chance it only affects me, although I don't know why.

Whenever I open Safari (iOS or MacOS) it seenm to send a command, via my LAN, to my Denon AVR which then changes settings/inputs.

I usually use Firefox, which isn't affected. If I use mobile/cellular data instead of being connected to my LAN, the problem doesn't occur, so it's not bluetooth. If I pull my AVR off the LAN, this also stops the problem.

Weird, huh.

I'll update this if I work out what's going on.

Edit

I have a lot of bookmarks which use the http control to change settings. Here's an example which selects QuickSelect 1:

It seems that in iOS/MacOS 27, Safari somehow goes through all the bookmarks, probably trying to get a favicon. This actually sends the commands to my Denon AVR. I deleted all those bookmarks and the problem is fixed.

I'm going to log a Feedback, although I suspect it's "working as expected" and one isn't meant to have shortcuts that directly control devices.

My Siri settings page looks like this now, chat gpt and new voice settings is gone for some reason?

Pull down from the right: Control Center
Pull down from center: Siri AI

What else do you expect them to do?
It’s just weird bro if I wanted Siri it was always available by holding the power button this is just stupid and to use spotlight you can just pull down on the Home Screen

Seriously who at Apple decided to change the way we pull the notifications from the left now

Yeah, this is going to take some muscle-memory retraining!

I'm sure it'll be fine once I get used to it.

However, considering I can just swipe down from the middle of the home/lockscreen to do the same thing, it seems redundant, and a change for change sake.

Another odd one.
I got the New Siri yesterday on both my devices. Been playing around with it.
Today I get an Alert in Settings telling me Siri is available and some other info including a Siri link.
I realize it’s a beta 1, but really? A day later?

And yeah, cropping is another pile of not quite working right.
Still indexing….

Swipe down from left or center you’ll get Siri. Swipe or pull down from the right you get Control Center. Pull down ( a drawn out swipe) from left side you’ll then get Notification Center. This is on an ipad. Yep, some retraining necessary.
