apple showcased some accesibillity features this week and one of them was voice control. Unfortunately this will only be available in English which also most likely means the new Siri will be English only for now …

Apple’s accessibility features announcement has new battery icon shown in the video. Also active mic indicator has a “glow” around the orange dot.

I feel like apple events are an incredible experience compared to google I/O(Yawnfest) and galaxy unpacked(in a basement)

It depends on what you are looking for. If there is nothing significant apart from AI, I would find it as boring as the Google event. If some meaningful RCS improvements are announced on the other hand ...

I personally hope that whatever Apple shows next month, it actually happens. Don't say AI for the sake of saying AI, show us actual things that will actually be released.

Also my number wish list enhancement idea would be a unified notification center. Not having to clear the same alerts on my Mac, then my iPhone and then my iPad. One clear, clears them all......

For me there is no anticipation at all. Not after the last two years.
27 will be even worse than 26 - more extra clicks, more submenus, more bull**it.
I don´t want or need any of this AI crap, that will "optimize" my photos,
my "experience", my lists..you name it.
But I´m not angry anymore.
It is rather fatalism. I will not fight against the update like in earlier years.
First day updater for sure.

They have lost me and nothing they will offer can change that. Nothing.

I'm hoping for more stability around iOS and iPadOS. I'm mostly happy with how my devices work, but there's just some odd bugs here and there and usually takes a long time before anything gets addressed.

I’m cautiously optimistic about the new Siri. Maybe Apple will have a better approach to it than other companies.

Some of my other wants are (mostly for iPad):
-Resizable dock on iPad
-Persistent menu bar on iPad, maybe make it more Mac-like?
-Clamshell mode
-Desktop on iPad. I usually keep my home screen blank, would be nice to just temporarily store some files there. The Files widget isn't really what I want. Removable drives appearing there would be nice too.
-Stability across all devices (too many bugs and inconsistencies)
-Mac spotlight on iPad
-Guest user/Multiple users
-Make AirPrint better. I print a lot of files with my iPhone/iPad. Most of the time, if a file fails to print, I get a message on the screen. There's some times where it just completely cancels it. I have to go into the Print Center more than I’d like to make sure everything is ok. Admittedly, maybe my printer is just bad?
-Shared Folders. I can make a network shared folder on Windows/Mac and have my iPad connect to it. But can I make a shared folder on the iPad and have other devices connect? Maybe I can already, didn’t look too hard into this one.

My wants are obviously already all there on a Mac already. I really like and prefer the iPad experience, would love to see it become a more capable system.

I'd be happy if the annoying bug is fixed when using Fitness on the iPhone to track an activity. About 50% of the time, it fails to update distance, location and calories used until about 10 minutes into the activity. Then, after cycling around 2Km or running around 1500m, it suddenly decides to cooperate and start (from zero) accumulating stats.

Curiously, it is recording all these things right from the start. It's not failing to get a GPS lock. If you upload the activity to Strava you get the full distance, HR and correct map. But Apple Fitness (and Health) will only ever show the truncated data. What would be a killer app (when used with a cheap HR band or Apple Airpods for HR recording, it's all many people need for fitness tracking) is rendered useless by a silly and persistent bug.

All signs/rumors point to them being ready to roll this out day 1. I think (or at least I hope) they learned their lesson from last years embarrassing debacle.

So excited! 8 is my new favorite number. 9 was mine last year. Can you guess why?😆

I love saying MacOS Taaaaahoe. It's very satisfying!

Also I would absolutely love it if apple did reduce transparency properly instead of just placing a fat bar between every liquid glass component

Not that i'm using it: i'm not that big a hypocrite

MR sorry for my soliliquy

I wonder if any of the new os is restricted only to newer devices? I have an iPhone 13 is the reason I ask. I've been running it on the beta program for years so fully planning to download next Monday and take a look. But I believe the newer devices have more RAM, might be necessary for the new Siri? Not sure.

I think iOS 26 tinted glass is butt ugly.

If iOS 27 truly has a glass slider, do y’all think it will be heavily tinted or frosted/blurred?

I could see glass refractions + Gaussian blur being beautiful as long as it doesn’t have a heavy tint. A slight white tint in light mode and a slight black tint in dark mode would be fine too when combined with frost. Even “clear” glass always as a tint currently.

A good question. Hopefully the new Siri chatbot will be compatible with all devices supporting iOS 27. After all, currently they can all run ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. just fine.

Yeah, though keep in mind that those are cloud-based. Things like personal context with on-device models will definitely probably be limited to newer hardware.

Complete Liquid Glass reversal should be an option. For those who broke the rules of updating out of iOS 18 by accident if they didn’t want 26 or 27.
