It's beta 5, as expected.

Someone here commented in detail regarding the build number. I guess that will tell us if this is beta 5 or 6 for sure but I’m not educated enough to decipher it.

iPhone was overheating and slowing the update down, so I put it in the fridge. That's the level of desperation we have reached lol.
Phone is getting warmer under load isn’t overheating.
Overheating would be when the phone shutting down because of heat.
You mean thermal throttling probably.

Wondering if they've skipped Beta 5 for whatever reason and have released Beta 6 branded as Beta 5 instead?
Based on that, I would hazard a guess that the reason iOS "Beta 5" has taken an extra week to finally reach us is that what they were planning to release last Monday would have been more of a disappointment/frustration than no release at all.

So yeah... perhaps we should all breathe a sigh of relief that Apple decided to not make us suffer through that. Whatever it was.

And once again the update is much much smaller than the 17 Gb that are shown on the update screen.
It’s barely larger than 5 Gb if you look at the storage screen after downloading the OTA update.
Apple should try to fix this. It’s broke since the iOS 18 phase. Really tired of this “why has the update be that big” all around social media.

My guess is by schedule, it was supposed to be beta 6 this week. But something security wise pushed back beta 5 to this week and well not everyone got the memo. Hence why we saw beta 6 on the dev site for a few minutes.

Have iOS and watchOS beta downloading. Happy to see iOS but watchOS is a bug fest that needs the most work. Hopfuly the delay was more about getting watchOS up to speed and not problems with iOS. Will see soon.
