iOS 4.2 Notes: AirPlay, Find My iPhone, AirPrint, New iPad Features

You mean HP only? Good thing I don't have a printer yet. Guess when I go shopping I'll be buying a HP. I wouldn't be surprised if this was fixed soon though. Just like with OSX software updates and adding new printers to the list.
yeah, tried to update my 3G. no crappy tones here as well. are we missing something? don't really want them - just want to see/hear what all the fuss is all about. (non-jailbroken by the way.. if it matters at all)
The problem my friend is that you need to be on the network with both devices to use the remote app! But if you are at a friend's house, though its easy to get in with the idevice to the network, you can't access the AppleTV with the remote app to use that nice keyboard until the AppleTV logs into the network; so until then you need to use the infrared remote and not the wifi remote app. Nice try though.
Updated my iPhone 3G, no noticeable changes. Don't have an Apple TV or an iPad. Stopped using my Macbook Pro a while ago...
I'm getting bored of Apple's marketing and selling games. Giving us half-assed features on each update, and calling the update a "major" one.

Disappointed
I have to say I'm very disappointed with Airplay. I have an iPhone 4 + AppleTV 2 and think it's ridiculous that they've effectively nobbled Airplay by making video streaming accessible only from iTunes/iPod. For god sake why? Alot of people will want to shoot some video, come home and then watch it on their TV - it is so obvious - yet Apple won't let you stream from your photo app!!!!! I tried taking my video into the iMovie app but that will only let you streaming the audio. I love Apple but why oh why do they limit the potential of so many of their products? Do I really need to wait another 6 months for this to be corrected? Then they nobble Airprint too…

iOS4.2 - nothing new that works in NL
If you live in NL and updated to iOS4.2.1 on 3GS, there's not much to cheer about.
Multitasking and folders may be new to iPad but not to iPhone. Airprint does not work with my recent Canon iX7000 network printer.
Airplay works for both music and video from my iphone to my speakers thru Airport Express, as well as music from iTunes. But why not audio streaming for iTunes vids? Why? Makes no sense. So still no easy lip-sync'd audio for theater experience on my iMac
TV rentals in iTunes: still not available in NL, nor in many other countries.

I cant get the Airplay Icon on any photos or videos on my iPhone4......any suggestions?

So you believe Apple does it intentionally, despite competition growing in intensity??
It's not a marketing game. It's simply that they haven't got it right to go all the way in their features upgrade plans. You seem to think that OS updates just happen with a snap of the fingers. It ain't like that.
However, if you prefer companies that will release painfully buggy devices and software just for the sake of boasting that they did such and such, you're quite free to look at the competition.
At first, after the update, no apps would launch on my third generation iPod touch. Then, after I restarted, that problem went away. All in all, things seem to be running faster.

Oooh well,there are other options to get that airplay feature like Boxee,Airfoil and Veebeam
Me too, the one thing I was really looking forward to was Airplay of iPhone video on the
TV.It's also annoying that you can't select a video to play on the
TV and also send the audio to additional airport expresses, that should be a basic feature too.Not saying you were one of these people, but now all of a sudden the "256MB of RAM is more than enough, you people clamoring for 512 are just insane, blah blah blahvomitvomitvomit" will turn into "It's ok that the iPad is sluggish now, because it only has 256MB of RAM"

I am loving Airplay so far, but for some reason it seems a feature is missing. When browsing the photos on my iPhone 4 over my ATV2, when I get to a video it just does nothing. Also, when I play a video on my iPhone 4 from my photo album there is no Airplay option. Did they just leave this out or am I missing something? Apparently you can't stream your own videos via airplay just yet? This is WEAK in my opinion. Wonder why they weren't able to implement this?

I just did see though that the dev team now has an update for 4.2.1 and also would love to see how airplay works so let us know and if i am reading this right you can only print to certain hp computers.
