I really like the new MobileMe page, I may purchase a subscription when I get my iPhone. :D

Looks like they gave out about 40 days of free service. My account was due to expire today, now it says I have "39 days free".

Still not sure if I'm going to renew, but nice none the less. Still can't get it to play nicely with google apps syncing.

Mine expired yesterday, was renewed and I got no extra days!

Does Apple now allow you to visit me.com on Safari on an iOS device? It's annoying to try to check your MobileMe email on a friend's iPad since you don't want to add and remove a Mail account just for a quick email check.

How is it annoying? How often do you do this? Don't you have your own mobile device?

apple makes a pretty login page with cloud wisps and no flash required :)

I have two questions:

1) Why do we need a login screen that is this flashy?

2) I'm confident that Flash could do the same login screen using fewer resources, why is HTML5 better here?

More than half of MobileMe subscribers will drop the service on their next renewal, unless Apple will add something that is worth keeping the service. A lot of people saying that the reason why they keep MobileMe is because of the Find My iPhone feature. Everything else is less interesting. Makes me wonder if Apple will offer something in return for those paid subscribers like me.

Why no 3GS support on the Find My Phone?

Same question Here. 3GS is still available at apple store so it feels like current generation.

Anyways, the "flashy" HTML5 me.com sucks and looks like HTML5 will be same pain in the a*s for our batteries as flash when all web developer start using such a fancy shmancy effects.

So, let me get this straight... a service that was supported on 3GS and even 3G iPhones since the beginning of it's time are no longer supported? Just like THAT!? I'm shocked.

It still works with my 3GS. I suspect this hardware restrictions applies only to the free find-my-iphone service.

More than half? lol. riiiiiiight.

I too am a paid user, and I too hope we get something extra for our dollars, but more than half? Lots of people use it to sync their macs without having to deal with solutions like Chronosync. Family calandars, iDisk tie-ins with specific applications etc.

I do find it outrageous (and halarious) that people are complaining that the free service doesn't apply to their devices. Apple's decided to make FMiP a free perk for the latest gen. So what? Yesterday everyone had to pay for it. Besides you can still get it; just gotta pony up the cash.

Yes it appears that the new Free FindMyiP app uses new level of software engineering that the old and so weak iPhone 3gs cant handle it. buahahahahha

I'm glad somebody understands me. I got mine in 2005 and it's just a name. I have changed my e-mail address several times through the MyInfo thing but my ID has always been the same.

I had the same problem. You can change your apple id to an email address. Open iTunes, go to the iTunes store and sign in. Then click on your id in the top right corner, and simply change your id to an email address.

Can the iWork update make it so the app will play my presentation EXACTLY like I made it on Keynote? I have found nothing but frustration using the iPad to present with.

I disagree. If people drop their subscription, it'll be because of inconsistencies on apple's end. I have had problems such as spontaneously duplicating contacts and random contact deletions three or four times since I have had the service (~1.5 years). Also, it's really strange, sometimes one contact's info is replaced with another contact's info, but the name stays the same. I noticed this when I was getting phone calls on my iphone from "John or Bob." I found out both contacts had the same phone numbers listed. These problems are what piss me off.

No it is even worse .. the free one also works on the 3gs if you previously set up a free account on a "current generation" device .. this is total BS.

This is crap! When you're a MobileMe subscriber the Find My iPhone feature works even the 1st Gen. iPhone. I don't see any relation about the hardware per se. Apple is just getting worse in supporting their old devices nowadays. I don't see any reason why the 3GS is not supported at all, since they're still selling the device in store.

I've yet to get the verification email from Apple in setting up my FindMyiPhone on my iPhone 4. I've followed every step, and have even hit the resend verification email button...but I'm still waiting. Been almost 12 hours now.

I've waited in similar fashion, but you have to match your apple Id to your email address.

a. Change both ID and email to same via itunes
b. Sign in to mobileme on iphone
c. Click resend verification email
d. Check your inbox / spam box for the email and verify.
