iTunes is telling me that it can't connect to the Apple update server. Been that way for over an hour now. Any suggestions? I realize that is essentially an Apple problem, but maybe there is something I can do on my end to help?

Clueless. Ever heard of multi tasking or folders? I have filled up all the pages of iPad with Apps so folders is really useful.

I will lock and unlock it one more time as it is something I used all the time. Then I will do the update. It was a nice feature. The lock will be set in its allow noise phase and it will then pretty much never be used again.

I streamed a purchased itunes movie that was on my iphone. Sure that's not a rental but the DRM issue should be the same. I'll download a 99 cents TV show rental to test it further though.
Update messed up my 2nd Gen Apple TV
iPad and iPhone 4 both updated beautifully...
However, Apple TV is stuck on 'connect to iTunes screen'.
Contacted AppleCare, after 20 minutes, I now have to go the Apple Store so they can reset my AppleTV with a mini USB to large USB cable.
Irritating. 😡

I'm using my printer attached to an Airport Express, our 3 macs have been able to print on it for months but my iPhone 4 can't see it with the new Airprint it just says no printer found, do I have to download something?

Same for my 3GS, which sucks because that's about the only reason I really care about the update.
There seems to be a change in the way you move the Apps around, before you just held the App button for a second or so and it started jiggling, now you have to hold it down for five seconds before it start to move, then where before if you hit the home button it stopped jiggling immediately, now it takes ten seconds for that to happen...
Can somebody else try this, the times are consistent so this may be the new way it works in 4.2...thanks...

What I want is the Apple TV capable of being used as a living room iPod touch, but with a bluetooth keyboard and trackpad. HD TVs prices have dropped a lot, and have the necessary resolution to be used as computer displays.
Let's say Apple makes a bluetooth keyboard+trackpad for 100$, add AppleTV for 100$, and you got yourself a 200$ Mac. You can get three of those setups for the price of one Mac mini, that's nothing to sneeze at.
And while not portable, it's less than the cheapest netbooks.

Would it not be easier to do that yourself instead of driving to a store and having it done there? I know some Apple people are clueless and all but resetting your Apple TV doesn't require a trip to the store. Lol 😛
You really don't have a mini usb to usb cable? Do you have a digital camera? That uses one.

Here it is in the settings menu, the old default Marker Felt, the new Helvetica, and the new default Chalkboard.
I don't like Chalkboard at all. Looks too much like kindergarten class...

I'm not seeing this at all. Is your phone running ridiculously slow or something?
Depending on the pages being loaded, specifically those that are mostly text, my iPad has always been able to load more than one page at a time without reloading when switching from one to another. And no, the reloads aren't happening so fast that it just looks like multiple pages can be held in memory simultaneously; my internet connection isn't *that* fast.
Put lots of graphics in the mix, and reloads become more likely.

That you may have some problem with your specific iOS device does seem clear, yes.
Cant see Airplay anywhere ?!?
