That's the problem: you guys are talking about bananas and I am talking about apples. I am NOT a developer
and HAVE NOT yet updated my iPad.
So from your experience, it's either one of the following:
- you CAN open more pages without reloading on iOS 4, thus meaning that Safari is BETTER with the new iOS version;
- you don't know what I am talking about or have never used other browsers to compare on iOS 3.
I streamed a purchased itunes movie that was on my iphone. Sure that's not a rental but the DRM issue should be the same. I'll download a 99 cents TV show rental to test it further though.
And yet you're quite willing to make definite pronouncements regarding implementation details of iOS and Safari running on it. Kewl.
My iPad had iOS 3.x this morning; it could load multiple pages in Safari, without reloading when switching from one page to another.
It now has 4.2.1 installed, and it can still load multiple pages, etc. Doesn't seem much different from the earlier version in that respect.
That's my point... Apple's Mac business is now like a side job.
That's why there's little news.
Apple's completely abandoned the consumer desktop market except for the All-in-One non-upgradeable iMac...
It's as if Apple's ultimate goal is to just be in the laptop, phone, TV, toy, & music business. I wouldn't be surprised if the Mac Pros ultimately get discontinued.
That only works on 10.6.5. If you've only got 10.5 (PPC especially) there is currently no free solution.Forget about paid apps for this - if you have an HP, just download its free iPrint app.
If you want to use AirPrint with networked printers, check the following (at your risk, of course) - seems to work great.

Yes.Do you have to download it once for the iPhone and once for the iPad?

It should only take 10 minutes max with an update. Restoring is what takes forever because of all the syncing you have to do. With an update you shouldn't need to resync. Those of you that have updated an iPhone 3GS - how long did the update take (not including the download)?
I've already downloaded 4.2.1 but not updated. Just want to make sure it's not an hour+ or something before I apply the update.
Thanks in advance!
I think if many of you would actually read the supporting documentation first, you might not be having these upgrade problems.
Plug in your iPhone, open iTunes, BACKUP your phone, check for new software, download/install/restart/etc. restore from the BACKUP.
Maybe it's just me, but I have never had an issue with each new version of software/firmware installations. Smooth as silk with all functions (and data) present and accounted for.

That's what I'm using on my old PowerBook (now print server). If anyone is running 10.6.5 there is no need for Printopia since AirPrint Hacktivator is free and would've been the official Apple way if they would've released it.You can use Printopia, which is actually better since it works w/ Bonjour connected printers too. $10 -- that's almost free if you need to print that badly.
