Yep. Sitting on the couch, browsing the 'net on my iPad. I come across a video I want my girlfriend to check out. Couple of clicks and it's up on my TV. That's one reason AirPlay is cool.

Except that doesn't work, unless by "net" you mean youtube and nothing more.

Updated it earlier around 12:30...

When I go to iPod on my iPhone, it says "No Content."

In the About, it shows 2307 songs, shows that I'm using a ton of memory (capacity is 29.1, available is 8.9). iTunes shows that I have 13.9GB of music.

So what gives? No Content?

was not fixed for me in 4.1, and it does not look like it was addressed at all in 4.2, so it looks like we are stuck with bad proximity sensors (for those of us still affected by it..for me it's horrible, i still am pushing speaker, facetime, etc with my cheek)

i wonder if I can exchange at the genius bar since it's still so bad.

That's what I'd be doing if I were you.

For now im really disappointed with airplay. Yes im able to get the audio to stream over from my iphone/ipad from any app (pandora, wunder radio etc.) But The only thing i can get the video to stream over from is the stock video app on the ipad and the dedicated youtube app. All other apps, tedtalks, PBS, hulu plus, netflix etc, ONLY STREAMS THE AUDIO.

So then I got to thinking maybe the apps will require updates. But then i tried streaming videos from various websites using safari which seems really useful, and again it only streams audio. DID THEY NOT BUILD THIS INTO SAFARI? If youtube, stock videos synced from itunes, and photos are the only things it lets you beam to your TV, the video aspect of airplay is USELESS. Guess we'll have to wait and see if they let developers use this.

Actually, the photos apps also streams video. It's obvious that they intentionally left it out of safari for some reason since its built-in to all other native apps. However, maybe jailbreaks will fix this?

I seem to be having an issue...I can't open anything. Whenever I tap on an icon, it highlights, and then nothing happens. I have an iPod touch (4th generation). Is anyone else having this problem?

With iPhone 3Gs upgraded about an hour ago.
Took about 9 minutes after one failed download.
iTunes shows i now have 4.2.1

Tested a few apps and they seem fine.

For me, the best new feature is being able to search within a page on the browser.

This issue happens sometimes when you install an iOS update.

It can usually be solved by syncing again with iTunes (it wont actually copy the music over again, so it'll only take a short amount of time).

Yeah fake multi tasking LOL! Whos Apple trying to kid.

:)
Who are you trying to kid, m8??
some people will always argue about everything. I hope this "fake multitasking" stays as it is.

But what about facetime? Did I miss something? The facetime button on my contactlist is gone.

I'm having the same exact issue... What the heck Apple?! I can play all my songs on my iPhone through iTunes but on my phone itself, it says I have no content...

Very Cool! Any idea if it will keep my settings (does it create a backup file and restore it after the update), or will it create a "virgin" Apple TV? If it does the latter I may just wait for the slow download on each machine....

Does a restore and creates a Virgin Apple TV as I recall.

3GS and text tones not working?

Did I miss something about the iPhone 3GS not being compatible with customizing SMS/MMS tones? I've got the update and see all the new features (air play, print, etc) but under the sounds preferences I still see the same old short and crappy list of options for alerts. Can anyone confirm this does or doesn't work? I've rebooted, quit and re-opened everything, and all that good stuff. Thanks.

I received the verification email after about 20 min, verified it, and on my iPhone4, it still says that my MobileMe account is not verfied. Overloaded servers perhaps?

definitely must be an overloaded server issue in that case. i still have yet to get an email, and it's an hour and a half later.

Currently, the only videos that will play via AirPlay from my ip4 to my Apple TV are youtube and itunes video. For Safari video, or video from within apps, I can only get audio to play through aTV. Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone got any other video to play through AirPlay? Netflix will stream audio only, and Hulu Plus appears to be entirely non-airplay compatible.
