am I missing something here, I have 10.6.5 and Epson wi-fi printer and shouldn't have to download any app to print but neither my iPad or iPhone 4 can find my printer???

As with iPhone, the mute switch will only mute "alert" sounds (like those from getting an email or a push notification. Sound Effects in games should also be muted.

Things like Music will NOT be muted as it's assumed that you would pause the music if you didn't want to hear it.

Is your printer Air-print compatible? I heard there's 3rd party apps taht can convert it.
 
Taking Forever to Update?

I'm update my ipad to the new os. It downloaded instantly, but has been trying to run the install for the last 20 minutes. I got the apple logo with the progress bar on my ipad, and it is stalled at the last possible spot on the progress bar. Has this happened to anyone else? I'd like to go home tonight and take my ipad with me, but don't want to unplug it.
 
Voice Mail

Just an FYI... I noticed my voice mail was all goofy after updating. Restarting the phone made it all better.
 
so the Airplay doesn't show up on iPhone 4 unless there's Apple TV or Airport Express around? it doesn't show up in my mine..

Cydia is not compatible with 4.2 yet, which kinda makes jailbreaking 4.2 on a 3G almost pointless unless you want to install everything manually. :)
 
is airplay breaking wifi for anyone else? I can use it once, but as soon as I end the airplay session, I can't start another. On top of that, wifi data does not work in any app. A network reset or phone reboot seems to fix it. If I don't use airplay, wifi works normally.
 
Just updated my 8 GB iPod touch 2G to 4.2.1, and I still can't pair my Bluetooth headset to it. I want to use it with Skype but don't want to use a wired headset. An iPhone works with a Bluetooth headset; why can't my iPod touch? I'm royally pissed!
 
Voice Recorder icon

Anyone else notice the ugly new Voice Recorder icon? The beautifully detailed microphone on the former icon has been replaced with a flat blue cartoon. It's like a step backwards.

No, when it works (that is in its limited way), it works wonders.

Well I see the picture problem on the Apple tv2 with Sony and Phillips tvs has not been resolved. Very disappointing. When are apple going to announce a resolution of this problem. The Apple TV2 is a seriously flawed product and yet very little has been said about. Come on why is their silence on this. The Apple TV2 does NOT work with the products of two major TV manufacturers

Download says 68 minutes (and I have a 20mbp internet connection) I have to get to the airport for my T-giving vacation trip... anyone know if I can hook up to my in-laws iTunes and update my iPhone from there? Its not going to be my "primary" computer that I sync with of course... but shouldn't it still work?

what does it mean software lock? what was wrong with the switch?

I have a 32 GB iPod Touch 2G and I too have bluetooth headphones. I updated today and just tried my headphones after reading your post. They work fine with my 2G iPod Touch. I didn't have to pair them as they were previously paired... I use them everyday.

I don't think you will be able to do Skype unless you get apple's headphones with the build in mic. I tried Skype on my 2G several months ago and I can hear the test call... I just can't talk over my headphones even though they come with a mic (Sony bluetooth headphones).
