Hi All,

I just updated iOS4 on my 3G. Everything ran smoothly... until the screen popped up to enter my pin code. I enter my pin code correctly, and returned to the screen with the single function to do emergency calls

Over and over again... have been trying to restart / reset my phone for 10 times ... Itunes does not recognise my phone anymore ...

Help meeeeeeee:confused:

And now I get the error : iTunes is not able to connect to your iPhone. Unknown failure (0xE8000065)

I don't see why home screen wallpaper shouldn't be allowed on the 3G. People have been using this for some time now with jailbroken devices...

Once the update is downloaded and the backup process is completed, how long is it taking you guys to actually complete the update? Mine is still stuck at about 50% "updating iPhone software..."

Yep I saw that 1.1 as well went to DL it and it was the 1.01 SW.

Mine shows 1.1 and I downloaded from App Store on the iPhone itself. I had to retry a few times the past 30 minutes but it eventually downloaded.

To get iBooks, I searched for "itunes ibooks" in Safari on my iPod Touch, went to the link (despite it still giving a date of May 26th), and the App Store app took me to iBooks, which now had the universal '+' sign next to it. I downloaded it without problem, and am now downloading Winnie The Pooh. It's pretty slow right now, which is to be expected.

OMG! Folders are SOOOOO nice. No more clutter.

One of the best new features. Any chance there is a smart folder that will just show me my most recently used 10 apps? I'm on an iPod touch 2G and I know that Multitasking will basically do this on other devices, but would be handy for those of us left behind. I've been wanting a "recently used" function for years now.

Should I upgrade to iOS 4 on my 3GS if I'm going to sell it once the iPhone 4 comes in on 6/24? I really wanna check out 4.0 now, but I'm afraid it might not be able to sell well since 4.0 can't be jailbroken yet.

Download took over an hour (because my internet here is really slow all the time). It went faster than I had expected, though.

Backup took 5 minutes or less. No idea why it takes longer for others. I'm using a 32GB 3GS (almost full, maybe 3GB free). So I was surprised how fast it backed up.

It's currently updating the software. Should be fairly quick from here :)

EDIT: I understand that 3G users may experience a slower backup time due to an older device.

Find My iPhone now working

I have been using the GM version since it was released. Once I upgraded to the GM version I was unable to use Mobile Me email or Find My iPhone features. Today I am able to use mobile me email, but still unable to use find my iphone.

Anyone else having this issue?

Thank you in advance for all your help!

exactly my point! Restrain yourself unless you want to decrease your reselling value significantly. I think the iphone-dev-team has a jailbreak/unlock for the current baseband already but until I see confirmation of that I will NOT upgrade and I advice you to do the same!

iBooks for iPad updated!

iBooks is now a universal app - iPad can also read PDF's now!! :D

this is more important to me than iOS4 for my iPod touch

Same thing happened for me. After about an hour, it sped through the remainder. Now I'm waiting for it to restore..
