iOS 4 RELEASED!

Is anyone else having problems setting up Google as an exchange account? This worked flawlessly on 3.x.x and 4.0 GM but now it's not. It keeps saying cannot connect to the server. If I set it up using Gmail it works fine but I don't want to do that because then it doesn't sync contacts.
 
How do you add other apps into the multitask window at the bottom? I made all my folders done, but I cant add my multitask. Hmm.

Of course, the changes are from the iPhone OS 3.

Is anyone else getting this? I am on O2 and it keeps on telling me to update my carrier settings every time i plug it into iTunes. I have a 16GB 3GS.

resync and let itunes optimize those pics cowboy and you'll be ready to ride again...
 
I backed up my 3G iphone proir to the software update, how come after downloading iOS4 it's at a snail's pace? Really annoying.
 
ok. i'm glad the backup issues aren't just my own. i'm about 30 min in -- download shows to be complete. backup is taking forever.

Using a solid black background would get you where you were before iOS, or you can simply use more subtle, dark, low-contrast backgrounds for the home background.
 
Does anyone have the custom dictionary?

I have followed instructions given for the beta version but it doesn't seem to be in the final release.

Thats not even the worst of it, just wait till it tries to RESTORE everything... i'm going on 4 hours now...
 
Finally finished the update but this is ****ing rediculous! It's sooooo slow to use the phone now! What has happened? I cannot even get into the phone because by the time it works out after I've swiped that I want to use the phone, it locks again...

And now it's just timing out. Not happy :mad:

same exact thing happened to my wife's iphone 3gs. 4 hrs later and it is still restoring all the music.

OMG! YES!!!

What the **** is going on?

Even my ipad is not getting its mail. I deleted the account from the ipad and now when I try to re-add it using exchange it won't sync mail or my contacts. It'd f'd up. I'm pissed.

It's been suggested you do a restore as new phone and not from backup People report it fixes the speed issue.
 
I am not reading through all 900 posts. All I gotta say is SWEEEETTT. I have the 3G iphone. Folders is a huge plus for me with 178 apps. Now if only the ipad auto applies folders when this update is available for it. Cause man, this is taking me a while to create all the folders and clean up the desktop.

And for those who commented. Yes, the backup, update, and resync is slow. plan on about 1/2 hr or so. Syncing my 89 books I have in my ibooks for my ipad into my phone now.

this upgrade is gonna be sweet on the ipad......:D

The battery was fine the day before, after installing iOS4 I noticed a giant immediate drop in battery performance.

I am not the only one experiencing this. I know quite a number of devs in the same position.

Oh well, I am getting my iPhone 4 on Thursday ... hopefully it holds up better :D

Oh god dont say that =P. Im on a train and have to get off in 45 mins, Im going to be running around the station with my laptop at this rate lol. Updating on a train = not a good idea in retrospect =D

OK, all the contacts are gone from my iphone.

I'm restoring my ipad to last night's back-up.

**** this ********.

I'll probably restore my iphone too.

What the hell is going on?
