Same here from Australia. Patchy issue it seems and no ideas who's fault it is. ISP? Apple? Akamai?

I almost cancelled iTunes Match because it didn't allow Genius functionality - luckily I found a workaround.
Good to see that Apple's officially added it, though.

Anyone figure out how to get the Genius Mix back under 5.1. I'm not seeing it on my iPad even after updating.

voicing my displeasure here with the 4G indicator.. I knew it was coming but I was hopeful it would bring the advertised 16Mbps HSPA+ speeds with some sort of behind the scenes update... but unfortunately it did not.

More like 1/4G

Still, 3.58Mbps on a mobile phone is eons ahead of 5-10 years ago, so I'm still somewhat appreciative :)

It seems trivial but if there's any tell-tale indicator of where this company is going after Steve's death that would be it. When in their history up to his demise did a new product come in that wasn't thinner and lighter?? Spare me the crap about the radios necessitating the extra bulk. Excuses, excuses. I'm so done if they release another 3.5" phone in the next update. I truly hate Android but just to demonstrate my frustrations with Apple I will switch so help me god. Are you coming with me?

Original iPhone: 11.6 mm thick.
iPhone 3G: 12.3 mm thick.

Original iPod touch: 7.87 mm thick.
iPod touch (2nd generation): 8.38 mm thick.

I'm pretty bad at math, but I do know that 12 is bigger than 11, and 8 is bigger than 7. Please do some research before making yourself look like a ****ing idiot.

I will wait with this one on my iPad 1 as iOS 5 meant a performance hit for me. I wish I could go back to good old iOS 3 or 4 at least, but no luck for me as I didn't save a file that is apparently required.

Same here, ios 5 was a complete disaster for me on my iPad 1. I would love to go back to ios 4, but I also didn't save the shsh blobs. Jokes on apple though because at this point it might be my last apple computer. They have really ruined everything for me.

I'm getting this message.

I'm getting this message as well. I've tried updating over 3G, wifi, tethered, untethered. i've tried restarting the device...no luck. i have not tried updating via itunes because, for one, i can't do that right now as i'm at work, and, two, the whole point of OTA update functionality is to not have to do that.

we should all go back to Mac OS 9.1.4

It ran so fast compared to Mac OS X 10.0 and 10.1

ohhh the good ol' days

At&t is an abomination. Here is how 4G can, and should really be.

this is exactly why i am not an early adopter of new technology. i'd really like an iPad, but i think i'll wait a few more generations...i'll see what the iphone 5 is like before i say anything about that..i currently have a 4.

OSX upgrades were never as bad as the jump from ios 3 to 4, and ios 4 to 5. Trust me, I have used and upgraded OS 9.1, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 10.5, and 10.6. With ios 5, my iPad is almost unusable, even for simple things. Here is an example. In a one hour period of web browsing, safari crashed over 15 times, even with all other apps closed. That is totally unacceptable, and never was an issue with ios 4. I once upgraded a powermac G4 all the way from OS 9 strait to 10.4, and although it was slower, it was still quite usable. Why can the computer go through six OS versions and be fine, but one cripples my iPad? There is something wrong here, and I am not going for it anymore. If this is how apple wants to run, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I'm sure theres something obvious I'm missing here, but can someone please tell me how they updated from 5.1 Beta 3, to this GM version?

Im not getting anything OTA, in iTunes or on the developer site...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9B176 Safari/7534.48.3)

I already updated, iPhone 4, and it seems faster and more responsive... Don't know if it's just me wanting to believe that.
