fresh install > ota as some bugs/issues can linger through OTA
my guess ischanged plans at the last minute and are skipping beta 8 and going to GM whenever the keynote happens to be.
Wasn't that coding debunked as just when the device automatically check for an update?
I can't see tonight being the GM
I know it says it in the title, but is there any info saying it could be the Beta 8 instead?
What's that got to do with the article in the post I quoted? The article in the post I quoted says iOS 5 beta 8 is being released on the 18th based on the code for the OTA and that's what I was responding to.....
timings.
Again, still not relevant. The article in the post I quoted and was replying to stated the beta 8 date has changed from today to the 18th based on code found in the beta. I was questioning the fact that it had already been proven that the code was actually when iOS checks for an update, like how iTunes does.
The article you quoted has nothing relevant to that as its source for dates is an insider source. Your reason for it of timings makes no sense as to it's relevance to my post as I wasn't questioning the dates, I was question the sites use of disproven code as news for a change of beta release date?!
I hate the anticipation and discussion about things like these. I'm the same way when waiting for a new game or an expansion/map pack. Just gets me excited and all that and fills me with false hope. STOP TOYING WITH MY EMOTIONS!!! lol
I water damaged my iPhone and refused a discounted iPhone just for the iPhone 5 :/
I'm quite disappointed Beta 8 is not here yet.
I feel like the excitement for iOS 5 is so huge that I can't even control it anymore. It's been 16 days since Beta 7 which is slightly higher than average, so here's hoping to a GM ~28th and no Beta 8.
Beta 1-2 18 days
Beta 2-3 17 days
Beta 3-4 11 days
Beta 4-5 15 days
Beta 5-6 13 days
Beta 6-7 12 days
I realize iOS 5 + iCloud is a lot more work than simply adding Multitasking and folders as in iOS 4 but the wait is going to kill me
iOS 4 Beta 1 to Final was 74 days.
iOS 5 Beta 1 to Today is 107 days.
We've waited roughly 9.24 Million seconds for iOS5.
I think I've just misunderstood the BGR article. I do apologise. I should probably sleep now, it's just gone 5PM and I've just got home.
haha I was wondering, thought i was losing the plot and missing some connection!
looks like the main article was wrong, no Beta 8 on 16/09/11, which brings the rest of it into doubt.
