This has been possible for years: turn on Airplane mode, then turn on wifi.
Some planes do have wifi nowadays so allowing wifi in airplane mode only makes sense.

In my (brief) testing it only showed the warning notification once: the first time I opened the Messages app after turning on Airplane Mode. It did not appear again, even if I force-closed Messages and reopened it. Seems fair to give that one warning then let it be.

Can someone on here count how much new things we have seen since beta 1? In that way, we'll see how many more things we will see and how close we are.

Can someone on here count how much new things we have seen since beta 1? In that way, we'll see how many more things we will see and how close we are.
Nearly all the new features were available in beta 1, anything new is just tweaks and fixes over each of the betas. You won't see some brand new major feature between now and launch. The number given of 200 is mostly background stuff the user doesn't necessarily see. plus there's no correlation between how many of them are available and it being ready for launch. iOS 6 will most likely launch in early October, just look at iOS 5's beta-GM-launch for a rough idea.
About a week after I started using iOS 5, I made a list of several dozen gripes I had with the OS. Most were minor, and most would take almost nothing to correct.
That being said, most never were "corrected" in iOS 5. So I am curious as to how many of these have been fixed now that we are up to iOS 6 Beta 3. You beta testers... please fill me in on some of these.
And for what it's worth, I do realize a few of these have been corrected in iOS 5. I bolded the ones that I know for a fact have been corrected or are coming in iOS 6.

10. Ability to add data usage in current billing cycle as a sticky in notification center much like stocks/weather.
11. Better 3rd party access to notification center. The Yahoo! weather app sucks. Let me put a Weather Channel or Accuweather widget in there instead. Theres tons of untapped potential in the notification center. At the moment, all we have is a decent start.

18. Ability to move more than 1 icon at a time when changing the layout of the home pages
19. Be able to set a georeminder to a specific point (dropped pin?) instead of just an address of a contact. There is an app called Locationizer that does a decent job of this. I shouldn't have to add every place I frequent like grocery stores, pharmacies, malls, banks, post offices, etc. to my contacts list just to be able to use georeminders.

Id actually go ahead and say put Siri/Voice-to-text on older iPhones, but I know Apple wont do this because they want to force people to spend their money buying their latest and greatest products, even if they arent that much greater under the hood.
38. Guaranteed money back on app purchases for something like 30 minutes. I havent needed it, but theres quite a few paid apps that Id like to see how they work hands on before I commit to buying. I dont think offering a 15 minute, 30 minute, or an hour trial would be so terrible. This is in the Android marketplace and I think it is the one (and only?) thing I like about the Android marketplace more than the Appstore.
39. Put some kind of weather feature on the lock screen instead of having to go into a weather app or notification center.
40. Ability to get Google Contacts to sync groups. I have my contacts divided into friends, restaurants, family, rarely used, etc. Would be nice to be able to click on contacts and just have numbers I actually use (friends) and if I need to step back a directory and go to restaurants or whatever, I could choose to do that.
41. When you edit a contact, have twitter handle (and facebook url?) be default fields. After all, we are integrating these things into the OS, right?
42. Remember contact-specific ringtones. I've got about 20 different ringtones for different friends and family members. It is quite annoying to have to program all of these in again when I get a new device."

This is in the Android marketplace and I think it is the one (and only?) thing I like about the Android marketplace more than the Appstore.
39. Put some kind of weather feature on the lock screen instead of having to go into a weather app or notification center.
40. Ability to get Google Contacts to sync ‘groups’. I have my contacts divided into friends, restaurants, family, rarely used, etc. Would be nice to be able to click on contacts and just have numbers I actually use (friends) and if I need to step back a directory and go to restaurants or whatever, I could choose to do that.
41. When you edit a contact, have twitter handle (and facebook url?) be default fields. After all, we are integrating these things into the OS, right?
42. Remember contact-specific ringtones. I've got about 20 different ringtones for different friends and family members. It is quite annoying to have to program all of these in again when I get a new device."

Some things iOS 6 (and even iOS 5) can do. Most of your ideas are good (I agree with them) but I can live without them.
Noticed something today that's new with beta 3. I live in Norway, but on beta 2, when I used turn-by-turn navigation, it was Siri that was talking, but now there's a Norwegian voice. Never saw that coming, we don't even have Siri yet.
I know that this is somewhat of a shameless plug but we're rather proud of it and perhaps those of you that appreciated it in iOS6 might like this, we released an app back in december that had the same sort of tilt functionality tha apple now have with their shiny dials in the iPod app.
