Didn't someone hack the GO train's LED "next station" boards once? I seem to remember those were Bluetooth, or maybe it was WiFi...?

Unsure ... but that's hilarious. Still could affect people's jobs - just think 1 poor soul gets fired for being late just 1 more time and didn't take a picture to prove it wasn't his/her fault. Some places even in North America operate just like a sweatshop.

Me too, I cannot update on an iPhone 3GS 16GB 2011.

Sorry Eddy your 3GS is 2009 not 2011 lol the 4S came out in 2011

as for update try turning Wifi off--> go to software update it will show you the update is there but you will not be able to download over 3G quickly go back and enable wifi and then head back to software update you should be able to download and install then.

POI labels in Maps are auto-hidden when they may overlap with street names. Scroll through the map slowly and you'll see the POI label fade away as a street name appears. Also, smaller/less important POIs like elementary schools can appear briefly and then fade as you scroll, letting you know they are there but getting out of your way until you zoom in more.

These are interesting as it shows a lot of thought going into Maps, though these particular decisions kind of annoy me. Will take some serious getting used to.

could someone tell me if this is fixed (from iOS 5)

if i have say 2 new text messages and i swipedown and remove them from the notification center, the notification number 2 still appears on my messages app. why is that? i've wondered for a year now why apple would let something like that slip out... and wondered for about a week less than that why apple hasn't released a fix for that.

is it changed in iOS6? why would apple intend for that behavior to occur?

this goes the same for any app. whether it's a 3rd party game, messaging app, facebook, whatever...

Has Safari a unified address/search field? Because this is quite annoying, once you get used to having only the single field in the desktop version of Safari.

This would be great, also pictures in Notes.

My phone number is now showing up as an option in iMessage settings on my wifi iPad since the upgrade.

apparently this started in Beta 2 but never saw it on my iPad 2 so I read your post tried turning iMessage off then back on my phone number now shows !!! this is awesome as some of my friends never knew who i was when i sent them from my iPad via my email address.

yay

this is because removing them from Notification Center does not mark them as being read, the "badge" is for unread items

Thats not really something to fix, as mentioned above the icon number is for UNREAD texts. Notification centre does not show the whole text.

If it removed the badge when you remove from notification centre you will know there's a text, but not have read it fully. So you forget about the text, and don't read it.

I agree if the text is small its annoying to clear it twice, but i see why it works as it does.

im still surprised apple hasnt included podcasts built into the OS like they did when they split music and video. I know it's on the app store, but i think it should be preinstalled cause it was one of the features previously included standard in iOS.

Can someone post a pic of the default home screen layout in beta 4 ? Mine now has two less icons and it should be full . I know YouTube is gone but what else should be on home screen ?
Thanks

Anyone Else?

Anyone else notice this? (on an iPhone 4)

App limit fixed?

Location: Tn

App limit fixed?
Is the application limit of 500 to 900 fixed in beta 4? I actually have a lot of apps from 2007 to now and while I rarely use some I don't want to remove several hundred to beta test this.

App Store Search

Is anybody else experiencing when you try to search something in the app store and it says cant connect to app store?

Does the status bar change color depending on the app on the iPad too?

I believe this is only on the iphone to give the illusion of a bigger screen, the ipad does not suffer from a small screen

Can anyone record this? I'm not getting exaclty what it is...

best way to describe this is when you wake the screen on iphone (i have only tested on 4S) the screen fades on (its quick) but previously doing this would just turn the screen on now it fades on....just makes the OS a little more polished feeling...:)

looks like a glitch that should be Siri (i see "Siri" on my 4S)

I can confirm the lock screen does fade in on an iPad 3.

I can confirm it does not on iPad 2 Wifi only

Sounds really nice. Would really appreciate someone recording it as it seems to only work on random devices.
