Google is nothing like Apple for holding back features for users, it much rather you have the full experience, but Apple doesn't allow it. This is an Apple issue, not a Google issue.
I'm hoping this is because there's another app for it in production. The current one is pretty useless - I have a shortcut to the site on my home screen instead of the app.
So will we still be able to play embedded youtube videos?
This benefits no one.
I dont know why.....but i have a feeling that there will never be a Maps app and a youtube app made by google. I hope Im 100% wrong but I just have a feeling that it will never come out.
Youtube and google still win bc iphone users have to go to m.youtube.com
I highly doubt Apple prevented Google from releasing their own Maps or YouTube apps on the App Store. More likely, Google didn't have a reason to devote resources to it since Apple included their own.
That will change once iOS 6 comes.
The only thing I'll miss is Apple's app was completely ad free. The Google created app won't be.
Did YouTube disappear from the Apple TV beta 4?
I would like to see Apple moving its apps to the App Store and let customers decide for themselves whether they want to use them or not. I have so many junk apps that I never use. I wont jailbreak for that.
It might be that the youtube videos worked better in Safari, one question though..
Will the trick of minimizing youtube, double-clicking the home button and starting the sound of the video through the task-manager still work?
It is a pretty cool feature when you want to use your phone for listening to music on youtube and wants to save power by turning of the screen..
Just wondering?
Great, when will they get rid of the rest of the useless undeletable stuff, like Reminders, Notes, Calendar, worst of all Newsstand (since it can't be dumped in a folder)? Just give me Phone and App Store (with the ability to download "stock apps" through there) and we'll be golden![]()
