I stand corrected.

Although I will say a couple things. A) I think the 5.1 beta may be a bit different, because it was a minor .X release. So the timetable isn't as urgent. B) iOS 5 beta "7" only gives more credance to the idea that there should be a beta 5. Sure, I understand iOS 6 is coming a bit earlier than iOS 5 did, but not that much. Should be about 3 weeks earlier.
 
But look what iOS 5 brought vs iOS 6...iCloud is a huge undertaking, mobile backups, PC free etc etc.
 
Looking back at major releases, there is a huge delay from the last beta and the GM.

I would bet Beta 4 is the last beta. However if one more were to sneak in, it would have to be this Monday, 27th.

I just wish they would put out a quick beta to fix the lock/unlock volume and the streaming app quality bug. I use this device in my car and Spotify is useless until it's fixed lol.

I hope they don't fix the volume. On 5.1.1 for my phone the volume is way to low. It used to be loud in 4.0 and 5.0 but when 5.1 and 5.1.1 came out the volume went way down. With the beta the volume is back to what it was. I love it. I can actually hear my phone now. And I know it's not the phone cause this is the 4th replacement device for an unrelated problem. All 4 replacements volume was super low. I think the volume be low on 5.1.1 is a bug with Siri and they fixed it and it's now back to normal.

I'm not saying make it quieter, I'm saying fix the bug. The lock/unlock sounds should scale their sound with the volume buttons, they shouldn't be at max volume at all times.

That's how it used to be for me at least on 5.1.1. When I used Siri the volume would be super high then after a few minutes would drop to quiet levels with everything else. It was like that on my replacements and my friends. I was used to being able to leave my iphone in one room and clearly hear it in another. With the 6.0 Beta 4 I can do that again.

Might as well have. AllThingsD is pretty solid and the same date has been confirmed by a number of separate sources. Can't remember last time there was this much consensus about the wrong date..

i think there will be a beta 5..because there will still be a good 2 1/2 weeks till sept 12 when the GM should be announced...also after they get beta 5 out, there would be ample time for them to do the code feeze and put the new iphone codes into the existing code...in fact i bet the codes are already done and ready to go...they are just waiting to get all the bug fixes finished before they freeze the code..

umm, beta 5. if we dont get it monday, code frezz is in play. and then i guess al the rumors are true.
 
So I've been using iOS6 for a few weeks and the real only major change that is going to stick out from iOS5 is Maps, greater FB and twitter integration, and easier to share? That is going to be the piece de resistance? Don't get me wrong the maps are great, but I think people are going to wonder why this was just iOS 5.2.
