What's New In iOS 7.1.2:
This update contains bug fixes and security updates, including:
● Improves iBeacon connectivity and stability
● Fixes a bug with data transfer for some 3rd party accessories, including bar code scanners
● Corrects an issue with data protection class of Mail attachments

iOS 7.1.1 Jailbreak released

I'll stay on 7.1.1 since the new update is nothing major.

I have an iPhone 5 and currently on 7.0.6

Is this really worth it to get through all the hassle? I mean in my iPad air definitely because it fixes Safari on 64 bits devices, but on iPhone 5 I'm tempted to let it go...

It's nothing big. All Apple updates include minor security updates. There's nothing wrong with 7.1.1. It's already secure.

To each his/her own... but it's common that companies includes lots of fixes under the banner of 'bug fixes'.

Yes I understand. But I mean why should I update when everything is working fine. My iPhone has no bugs from what I can tell. No crashes, battery issues, etc.

i cant even get the jailbreak to work on my iPhone 5 on iOS 7.1.2 (Mac) ... it keeps saying "timed out" and the Pangu icon is still on my springboard after it reboots

Same thing kept happening to me. The fix is you must not restore from your back up before you jailbreak. Update your phone to 7.1.2 (clean install) Set up phone as new (don't install anything). Jailbreak and then restore your phone from your backup. :)

I'm trying to jailbreak my iPhone 5 on 7.1.2, I run pangu, all goes well, it says done but cydia isn't installed. Ran it three times, no change.

Anyone know whats happening?

Well, got it to work after the 6th time but now I've got

process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)

Whenever i try to download anything fro Cydia. Google tells me the only fix is a restore.

Why oh why didn't I just leave well alone, my phone was running perfectly. And now I have to waste 2+ hours restoring and putting everything back on.

if you're on windows, are you running the pangu application as administrator?
