Apple has never provided OTA updates to final GM seeds in the past, so yes, you'd have to download the full OS restore file to directly update your iOS devices via iTunes.

Note that you never have to do a fresh install, you just have to ask iTunes to update your iOS devices with that file you downloaded.

Thanks a million.

IOS 6 was on 6.0.2 by this point and was about to launch 6.1 - http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOS_6 - not really so different is it? In fact considering the fact that IOS 6 was so similar to 5 while IOS 7 is both a complete design refresh and totally reengineered for 64bit, the surprising thing is how much of a hash they made of 6 in comparison.

BTW, five close family members with IOS 7 upgraded devices here, and five with no problems. I'm sure we can prove something this way.

So, I'm confused... are you stating that 5 people is a substantial sample size?

No, I'm being sarky. Plainly it's pointless trying to prove anything with anecdotal evidence. Is this your first time on the internet?

Does anyone else get this bug (or is there a logical reason for it?): search an inbox in Mail, and every result is duplicated. If you organise by thread they will be grouped (so tap on a result to see both). If you don't organise by thread everything is listed twice.

Guys,

with a very strict and reliable methology, I've confirmed b2 greatly improves on the RAM usage / crashes of Safari (and all UIWebView-based apps). See my first report at https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/18522600/ .

I'll report back on how the iPad 3 behaves with the two iOS versions soon.
Dude, no way I'm going to analyze all those results you posted. I'll simply trust your analytical skills and take your word for it instead.

The only issue with Beta 2 I have found so far is my voicemail freezes. And it appears to be stuck on "speaker". I can't seem to disable it playing on the speaker without it freezing and the phone becoming completely unresponsive for 5-10 seconds.

I found a quite interesting bug... I flagged an email and then put it in a folder.

When I view my mailboxes it says I have.... 4,294,967,295 flagged emails. When I open the flagged inbox there is nothing there, but still says I have the nearly 4.3 billion emails flagged.

I had the exact same issue, but somehow it went away..

That's the largest unsigned 32 bit number FYI.

Phone

I'm noticing a delay in the phone app. It occurs when you start a call, either in the phone app or using Siri. The screen will show just your background for a moment then bring up the normal call window. It doesn't affect the call or anything, but it's an obvious lag I've noticed since the release of iOS 7.0.3.

this issue still persists in 7.1 beta 2 :( this sucks

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if 7.1 fixes (or changes) the problem of geofence reminders not working after you close the reminders app? As it stands, you have to leave it open otherwise it won't remind you at a destination, even with background refresh switched on.

a location reminder worked for me yesterday on 7.1b2, with the reminder app in the background. it's not a feature i use a lot and i haven't done any thorough testing on it though.

After a week using it I can safely say yes, it does! Both my iPhone 5S and my iPad Air are running very stable. No more reboots.

thank goodness! I always feel like I'm playing Russian roulette when I use multitasking :(

now just need the Pinterest app to stop crashing when I change from landscape to portrait view.

EDIT: OH! and I swear that in iOS 6, when I tapped on the home button once in multitasking, it would take me back to the home screen, now it takes me to the previous app, then another tap takes me to the home screen.

After beta 2 that was released 7 days ago? I seriously doubt it, especially as they said it included several important bugs with some new features. A single week of development?

Considering Apple tend to release a new beta every two weeks and the upcoming Christmas/New Year, we probably won't see another beta this year.

I'd bet on the first half of Jan.

However, Apple have proven me wrong me before and I'd love to have the latest code. So hopefully, it is out today. :)

I've got both 7.1 beta 1 & 2 .ipsw file [Model a1428] yet I can't seem to install it on my iPhone 5? Says the the firmware is not compatible yet it was fine a week ago. I do have my UDID registered as a Dev.

I tried JB'ing my iPhone 5 but it ended up bootlooping so I DFU it, restored it to 7.0.4 and now I'm just trying to install beta 2 to restore my most recent backup.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My Siri appears to be broken (no voice feedback, though it works fine)
Gona have to dfu reinstall

Apparently all my calendar entries for when bills are due have a one day prior alert. I never set them up that way and they were working perfectly normal on 7.0.4. I never changed them either so somehow I did something really weird or beta 2 set alerts for calendar entries lol. But not all, only bill reminders in my calendar. They are set up as all day events, monthly repeating. Anyone else have this happen?

Happened on 7.0.4. I have set my events without alert for calendar on my Mac (mavericks) and on my iPhone it was ok, but on my iPad mini events got default alerts o_O
