That's not a bug, that's what happens if you touch the screen without sliding to unlock. They've made it more aggressive so people will notice it.

Actually it works weather your slide in valid or not. Do it slowly and you'll see it always lights up. Kinda ugly IMO.

On the lock screen, just touching the screen now (without moving finger) starts the sliding-to-unlock action.

I think there is a new bug in beta 4. Sometimes when I get a message(whatsapp) , the screen turns on and turns off straight away.
This happened to me twice now the last hour.
Anyone else noticed this?

Happens in some situations even when that's not enabled.
The slide to unlock background blur is displayed depending upon your background - I have the gray dynamic wallpaper enabled and only see the slide to unlock blur occasionally when the "bubbles" lighten up when they're under the slide to unlock area.

Huh. Weird.

In my case it happens if I do the following:
Get a notification while the phone is locked. Slide to go to the PIN unlock screen. Tap on Cancel there to return to the lock screen with a notification. Once I'm back there the unlock message will have that blur/glow around it.

iOS 7.1 Beta 4 Bug Fixes and Changes

Assuming you have a 5S, this is a feature. It's the first iPhone where you don't have to swipe to unlock thanks to Touch ID. So they've done away with the notification.

No I mean whenever I press the home button without fingerprint I don't have the slide to unlock

Has the App Store update notification been fixed? Since iOS 7 the only way to find out if an app needed an update was to launch the App Store.

You didn't get the little blue dot next to the app that was updated? Had that in 7.0.4.

I do get a blue dot but that's after the update. I was referring to the App Store icon where it would indicate the number of Apps needing an update. It still works for Apple Mail but not the App Store.

Do you have automatic updates enabled? I'm wondering if they got rid of the badge when it's enabled?

Don't think most experience that kind of an issue as it seems to work fine.

I don't have automatic updates enabled and effectively only get number of updates badge when I open the App Store, even sometimes you have to select top charts or featured to get updates to appear, that's since 7.0 let's hope it'll be resolved in 7.1 public release

iOS 7.1 beta 4 seems very stable - performed a full wipe and restore as new and loaded all apps from scratch and set them up as new (no iCloud data backup) on my iPhone 5S and iPad 2.

I've had zero app or iOS crashes thus far. My biggest gripe now is the occasional lag scrolling various menus (settings, settings-> general, safari-> bookmarks are laggy/jumpy occasionally) and the cosmetic issues that are still present or new such as the new + add contact icon in the keypad dialer isn't centered with the number delete icon on the right or the brightness slider in control center isn't the same length as the volume slider or the star icon in safari bookmarks needs to be moved to the left one pixel to center it vertically with the history icon below it - there are lots more polish issues like this.#
