OMG 1.5 seconds my life is ruined. Some people need to get a grip on reality. I really can't believe someone is really gonna even take the time to measure this.
I really think some people get off on just complaining to complain.

It's the difference between instant and having to wait. iOS 6 was blazing fast, animations were almost forgotten about because the time between clicking and getting to what you want was incredibly fast.

Now that they're slower in iOS 7, it's maddening. It's not about exactly how long it takes or measuring it, it's going from what was once instant to having to wait, and it's annoying.

It's not complaining to complain, it's an actual problem that bothers a lot of people.

Yeah, that's pretty much follows the standard hardware/OS update cycle. The hardware guys release blazing fast hardware and the OS development team figures out a way to make everything run slow again. This sadly has been going on for 30+ years now. Although the marketing guys will tell you the new OS is X times faster.

Not denying its fast. I know it is. Im just ragging on your claim of a lightning fast unlock animation. We can agree to disagree on that. The only side by side comparisons out there are not showing 7.1 but 7.0.

Perhaps he has animations turned off in settings (reduce motion). This makes it super fast.

Agreed, I can unlock my device, and swipe 3 times before the 4th actually registers with the OS and performs my requested action. It is maddening. This is the 1 thing I'm not a fan of concerning the new animations. I really like the animations, but cannot stand the fact I have to allow the OS to "stop animating" before I can open anything or perform a swipe.

It half-way reminds me of those stupid movies at the beginning of a game where you just want to get on with it already.

Intro video is important for the story in d game.

7.1 is fast enough for me , 7.0 was really slow.

It still has kinks that need to be worked out.

Weather in NC to show the temp ALL THE TIME.

Keyboard.

Music App & its layout.

Control Center and the Play button - it tries to play from the last source of audio.

Animations.

Opening App from a folder.

The sliding of tiles when trying to close an app.

Absolutely agree. Apple needs to sort these things out. Hopefully 7.1 GM will fix most of them.

Care to explain a little more in depth?

So I've installed the 7.1 b5 on my rMini and iPhone 5s and I can tell you after 2 weeks it's getting a little bit buggy now. I don't know what it is, but my iPhone 5s drains battery now but I didn't change my daily usage, it's quite the same usage as before. The status bar still randomly disappears on multitasking, push notifications don't work accurate (anymore) (notifications stay in the notification center, even if I opened the app meanwhile AND sometimes I don't get push notifications when I should get one).
On my rMini it's even worse, sometimes laggy (especially on tapatalk and the yahoo weather app), app crashes, battery drain, status bar disappears and appears randomly on multitasking.
Somebody else out there who has the same problem? The first days the beta were a beast but now...

HA and probably spend hours timing and videoing it. Add that time to the 1.5 seconds lost and should be good to go for several years.

NO it bothers a few(and I do mean few) people on an internet forum, the general pop of iPhone users probably haven't even noticed.

Even if the issue bothers 0.1% of 100,000,000 users, that's still 100,000...that's still quite a few people, and more like a lot of people. They might represent a small group of the overall user base, but it doesn't mean there are just "a few" of them.

That said, even if just a few people notice an issue, it doesn't mean the issue isn't there simply because the vast majority of others don't notice or don't care about it.

Some people like fish, some people don't. Does that mean there's an issue with fish, just because some people don't like it?

That's somewhat different, right? It's not about liking something, it's about something that has gotten worse in comparison to what it was like before, and whether or not you are bothered by it.

To use your analogy, as "out there" as it is, it's if the fish would suddenly develop a much more fishier smell and there would be people who are bothered by it while there would be others who aren't, either because they don't even notice it or just don't care about it. The underlying "issue" of the smell being stronger and more prevalent is still there nonetheless.

Although in a case like that it's still much more subjective, as I guess there can be people who really enjoy the fish smell and would even see it as an improvement it it became stronger. In the case of something taking longer to do on a mobile OS, don't think anyone would really choose to have things take longer, it's just that the perception or caring of what that "longer" amount really is can be different for different people. But, again, it doesn't change that it's still longer (even if just by a bit).

Point is, if someone doesn't care or notice that it takes "longer," then to them, it's not an issue..

Well dude, that's all subjective. We can go on and on about whether or not it bothers a few or a lot.

In my experience outside these forums, I've heard multiple complaints from non techy people about how their phone feels slower since the upgrade.

I've heard the opposite. So it's all subjective.

Has this latest beta fixed the iOS 7 sound bug? (Not sure if it affects anything but the 5s)

The bug is basically this.

Activate speak selection in settings, general, accessibility.

Set your desired volume for the tones (ringtones, text tones, alert tones)

Set ringer and alerts change with buttons to off.

Now hi light a text for the phone to speak. Set the volume higher or lower and after the phone speaks the text all tones are now set to the volume you just set.

9to5Mac just posted that 7.0.6 was released.. anyone got this yet?
For me it doesn't show up.

Edit: ok, it's on the frontpage now :)
