Weird, haven't had that happen on any iOS 7.1 betas or 7.0 releases or betas either (as far as I can recall at least).

Yeah it is strange as I have not had it happen on any 7.0 versions or 7.1 b1 -b4 either. Just 7.1 b5.

is the beta 5 on iPhone 4 a bit better than 7.0.4 now? My iPhone 4 is getting so slow that I'm not sure if I'll be able to manage to wait till the iPhone 6. :(

I can't say, but when I was browsing this subforum a while ago some people mentioned one of the earlier 7.1 betas being notably faster on iPhone 4. Don't have time to dig up the comments now, though.

Yeah I haven't had it on any of the 7.0 or 7.1 beta's so far, hopefully it gets sorted by the next build.. Haven't seen it on my iPad Air yet either (touchwood).

Caught me at a really annoying time yesterday, I was running a timer which finished, went to turn it off and the 'tap to stop' button was covered by a montage if 'enter your password for....' boxes!

can anyone let me know if the home screen animations of the icons flying in on beta 5 are as fast as the ones from the original iOS 7 keynote?

I have the video link, go to 1:18:41. Thanks!

Not sure what people are smoking on here but it's not a fraction of a second. It's still over a second. Before you can swipe your damn home screen. It's just not as slow as it used to be. It's more like it's been sped up by a fraction of a second. It's about 1.5 seconds now.

I just did it, it's under half a second. I'm drug free too.

ios 7.1 beta 5 is rock solid

Yeah right

7.0 does this as well every now and then . Thats how they are able to get the blur effect to not completely destroy the system . It goes low res then blurs. Less taxing on the GPU. Craig Fedherigi commented on how they had to work a kind of magic to get it to show the way they wanted.

Seems like a small glitch of it not actually applying the blur.

From an app to home screen is under half a second. From unlock to home screen is borderline 0.5 seconds. I'm not mistaken.

Sorry your right about from app to home screen not from unlock to home screen. Its simply not true. Go ahead and time it out and make a video. Id love to see how you mystically have faster animations on 7.1 than anyone else. 0.5 seconds is as fast as iOS 6 and its nowhere near that fast.

I'm right about both. I would make a video, but not able to do so, as have nothing to film it with. It's not mystical, it's actual. I did a clean install to beta 5 on my 5S and there I go. You probably just updated or restored from a backup. Either that or you just want to bitch about something. It's as fast as iOS 6.

Restoring from a backup has ZERO effect on the preset animation speeds. Thanks for further proving you are a bit confused. Any video on the web clearly shows this if you watch. Unlocking animation is clearly not as fast as iOS 6.

Now you're up to 3 false claims.

A fresh start is always advised for betas, I do this as it's recommended. Never know what might carry over. Also many people note that they have a better experience on a beta with a clean install, there's enough threads on here to back that up. I'm not confused, you might be though :p you attacking me just shows you're desperate to shout down anyone that disagrees with you, so due to that I'm done replying to you as you. iOS 7.1 beta 5 is faster. As people will see. I would put a video up to prove it, but I'm not in a position to do so.

Not denying its fast. I know it is. Im just ragging on your claim of a lightning fast unlock animation. We can agree to disagree on that. The only side by side comparisons out there are not showing 7.1 but 7.0.

Imagethis is the normal one
So basically sometimes it's more transparent rather than being more translucent as it usually should be? While that does seem like it can be a bug, it's likely a minor or even a trivial one at best, and certainly doesn't really seem to apply to stability or performance.

I saw it in the 7.0 betas. It disappeared after GM, I expect the same again for this.

Not sure if I'm experiencing a hardware (iPhone 5s) issue or iOS 7.1 beta 5 issue.

My phone can be just sitting on the table and the power down animation will appear. As if I pressed the sleep button and held it.

I hit cancel and it goes away, like normal.

Sometimes it does that even during usage.

The sleep button doesn't appear to be stuck or have similar issues like the iPhone 5 did.

OMG 1.5 seconds my life is ruined. Some people need to get a grip on reality. I really can't believe someone is really gonna even take the time to measure this.
I really think some people get off on just complaining to complain.
