Lol you guys. The latter of the two seems to be of high quality, almost like a photo shoot. Likely fake.

:D
I'm actually hoping to see a more radical departure from the current lock screen than just updated fonts and different unlock controls, so I'm hoping it's a fake ;)

- "The leaks are wrong" is an odd statement because there haven't been any. Except one blurry photo that was likely fake. This statement is probably based more on rumors and mockups than anything else. Most likely, mockups.

Ehhh, no.

Interesting!

Here's another:

Font seems to match the '7' seen on the WWDC banner.

Actually no, the "7" banner use Helvetica Neue Ultra light. The "7" is actually "curved" on the banner (and in the font). On this picture the 7 is straight, so not the same font, so probably a mock-up.

With the stuff Mark Gurman posted on 9to5Mac it would be pretty easy for someone to do a mockup off of it. I'd be curious to know whose twitter account these photos came from.

You're completely right. Oh the human mind, so easily mislead ;)

Polarising....

If you take it in terms of photography, when you polarise light it removes shine and softens the harsh light. So, if you look at the WWDC App, there is a soft gradient in the icon.
Therefore, the look wont be flat, the shine effect will be 'polarised' and the look will have a subtle, soft gradient look from light to dark of a single colour......

That's exactly what I have been thinking too, I just noticed the WWDC in the app store and you are correct. Slightly different from the rest. If they choose this route, I will definitely enjoy this.

I can see it now. No, iOS 7 is not flat. The new iPhone will be released with a glassless 3-D display and iOS 7 will be in 3-D.

Then in about six months people will whine about Apple not innovating. Apple will make the LED light double as that flashy thing from Men in Black that erases memories, and about six months later people will whine about Apple not innovating AND wonder what iOS 7 will look like.

I read this as 'there will be many bugs to fix'. And we are back to poor battery, wifi and safari performance in 3...2...1....

Now that someone is quoted as having said the word "polarizing", now everyone has set about attempting to (very badly) analyse the context... talk about OBSESSED!

You're still doing this? You seem to be pretty obsessed too...nothing to do this Sunday?

I think that was the goal. Apple releases a "leak" that is vague in the hopes that it builds up hype for tomorrow.

SUCCESSFULLY I might add.

Seems quite likely. Two days before announcement seems like just the right time (was released yesterday).

Hmm, which is worse?
Being on an online forum dedicated to rumors and the discussion of their rumors.
Or being on the same forum hating and trolling those who are using its forum to its exact purpose.

I think I know which..

I just hope they don't combine OSX with iOS. It will be a failure just like Windows 8.

Microsoft decided to bring back the Windows Start Button in 8.1 after realizing what a big mistake they did and all the compliant they got.

I uninstalled ALL the metro apps and replaced it with the desktop apps on the start menu, and disabled the stupid lock screen. Now it functions almost like windows 7 but will have to wait for the start button until Windows 8.1.

Metro apps works great on tablets but definitely not on desktops. I prefer good old fashion desktop apps, with small fonts, and small icons, and lots of window space to see all the multi tasking windows. If I do get a surface in the future, i'll do the opposite, uninstall all the desktop apps and install the metro apps.

It was a big mistake trying to combine metro apps with desktop apps. And I just hope apple does not make the same mistake with OSX and iOS. From what I can see so far, they are keeping them separate.

Maybe Tim is actually 'doubling down'...

I don't know why people think 'doubling down' is a joke.

A company can't stop EXTERNAL leaks, but definately CAN stop INTERNAL leaks. Their hardware is made in China. There are so many people that see various stages of the iDevice before it's released, from employees setting up the manufacturing facilities, employees putting together the devices, employees handling packaging and shipping of the devices. It's far too many OUTSIDE of Apple.

For software, it's all handled INTERNALLY, so stopping those leaks is at least possible.
